Only a small part of the boats has a central rolein out-of-hours primary care. It is difficult to clearly separate the different roles of theboats, and it is therefore important to have the perspectives of both the municipalitiesand the health regions in mind while evaluating the services. The northern healthregion has a high level of activity compared to the rest of the country. This isprobably best explained by both geographical and demographic differences. Thenorthern health region covers large distances and a decentralized population.8
