MANITOBA, SASkATCHEwAN E ALBERTA
Manitoba é constituída por rios, lagos, planícies
e pântanos. Winnipeg, a sua capital, conhecida
como a cidade dos 100 000 lagos, possui uma vida
cultural bem animada. Manitoba abriga igualmente
o jardim Internacional da Paz - o maior jardim do
Mundo dedicado à paz mundial. Regina é a capital
de saskatchewan, onde existe um enorme parque
ao redor de um lago artificial onde fica a fonte de
Trafalgar, trazida de londres em 1939.
As Montanhas Rochosas é uma cordilheira que
se estende por mais de 200 quilómetros ao longo
da fronteira que separa as províncias de Alberta e
british Columbia. Dela fazem parte dois parques
nacionais, o de banff e o de jasper, que permitem
contactar com a natureza e a vida selvagem.

famosa do Canadá. O Parque nacional banff, o mais
antigo do Canadá, tem fontes de água revitalizantes
onde se pode desfrutar das águas termais e das
águas sulfurosas, que fervem a 40 graus centígrados
todo o ano. Pode ir até ao topo da montanha sulphur
através de teleférico, podendo alcançar uma vista
deslumbrante.
Próximo existe o lago louise, uma das jóias das
Rochosas, símbolo da beleza desta região. Este lago
encontra-se num pequeno vale de glaciares e está
circundado de montanhas cujos picos estão cobertos
de neve. Ao nascer do sol consegue-se ver as águas
do lago espelhadas. Daqui pode-se fazer uma
caminhada até à Planície dos seis Glaciares, um
caminho que poderá levar entre cinco e seis horas.
O nome da província de Alberta é uma homenagem
à filha da Rainha Vitória. A sua capital Edmonton
tem uma vida cultural intensa e é conhecida pelos
seus vales e rios tal como pelos festivais de música.
Tem o West Edmonton Mall, o gigantesco centro
comercial, o maior do Mundo, com mais de 800 lojas,
um parque aquático, uma piscina com ondas, uma
praia artificial, um hotel, um campo de golfe, uma
montanha russa e uma pista de patinagem.
Calgary, outra cidade situada entre as Montanhas
Rochosas e as pradarias, é povoada de arranha-céus
e centros financeiros. Da Torre de Calgary pode-
-se desfrutar da vista das Montanhas Rochosas, a
pradaria e a cidade.
Churchill, é um pequeno povoado conhecido por ser
a “Capital mundial dos ursos polares”.
É o único porto árctico de Manitoba e permanece
aberto desde julho a Outubro, pois o resto do ano
é impossível pois as suas águas estão congeladas.
um espectáculo a não perder é ver os ursos polares
ao redor do povoado, à espera que a baía fique
completamente congelada para passarem para o
outro lado e permanecerem ali durante o Inverno e a
Primavera, caçando focas.

Manitoba consists of rivers, lakes, plains and
swamps. Winnipeg, its capital, known as the
city of 100 000 lakes, has a lively cultural life as
well. Manitoba is also home of the International
Peace Garden - the world’s largest garden
dedicated to world peace. Regina is the capital
of saskatchewan, where there is a huge park
around an artificial lake with its Trafalgar
fountain, brought from london in 1939.
The Rocky Mountains is a mountain range that
stretches over 200 kilometers along the border
between the provinces of Alberta and british
Columbia.
It includes two national parks, banff and
jasper, which allow contact with nature and
wildlife. Glacier Road unites them, it is the
most famous road in Canada. banff national
Park, the oldest in Canada, has revitalizing
water fount where you can enjoy the hot springs
and sulphurous waters that boil at 40 degrees
Celsius all year round. you can go to the top
of sulphur Mountain via cable car, reaching a
breathtaking view.
near there is lake louise, one of the jewels of
the Rockies, symbol of the beauty of this region.
This lake is located in a small glaciers valley
and is surrounded by mountains whose peaks
are covered with snow.
At sunrise can be seen the mirrored waters of
the lake. Here you can take a stroll to the Plain
of six Glaciers, a path that could take between
five and six hours.
The name of the province of Alberta is a tribute
to queen Victoria’s daughter. Its capital,
Edmonton, has a rich cultural life and it is
known for its rivers and valleys as well as for
music festivals. It has the West Edmonton Mall,
the largest in the world, with over 800 shops, a
water park, a wave pool, an artificial beach, a
hotel, a golf course, a roller coaster and a track
skating.
Calgary, another city lying between the Rockies
and the prairies, is populated by skyscrapers
and financial centers.From the Calgary Tower
you can enjoy the view of the Rocky Mountains,
the prairie and the city.
Churchill is a small town known as the “world’s
capital of polar bears.” It is the only Arctic port
of Manitoba and remains open from july to
October, as the rest of the year it is impossible
because its waters are frozen. A show not to be
missed is to see polar bears around the town,
waiting for the bay to be completely frozen to
pass to the other side and stay there during the
winter and spring, hunting seals.
