Gestão por Processos. Dentro dessa mentalidade,
mandatória hoje em dia, cada setor, departamento
e gestor é responsável por garantir os aspectos ambientais
de suas respectivas atividades, conforme o
escopo da certificação.
O Departamento de Meio Ambiente de uma
organização tem sua responsabilidade inicial no
processo de implementação de cada requisito, por
meio de treinamentos, elaboração de procedimentos
e ferramentas de gestão necessárias. Após a implementação,
seu papel será o de um “consultor interno”,
ou seja, garantindo a atualização dos aspectos
legais e seus respectivos licenciamentos, além de
fornecer suporte, reciclagem de conceitos e orientações
quando necessário, para que cada setor, com
seus próprios recursos, conduza suas atividades de
modo ambientalmente sustentável.
In 2004 came out a revision of the 14001 standard
and it is the current version that is being implemented
in the companies.
Currently, the implementation of the ISO 14001
is a toilsome task and, depending on the organization,
it takes about two years to get the certification,
given its importance and seriousness. The Brazilian
organism responsible for the supervision and concession
of the rights to certificate other companies
is the INMETRO.
The main benefits of the implementation of the
ISO 14001 are: guarantee of processes sustainability,
minimizing impacts on the environment, as well
as greater visibility of the company to clients and
suppliers, customer retention and better financial
results.
The reasons to apply this certification range
from the improvement of the company image to
the eyes of clients and consumers, to requirements
made by clients concerned about the environment.
However, it is worth to say that, to guarantee a successful
implementation and its consequent maintenance,
reaching on its fullness the excellent results
the standard allows, it is indispensable the Processes
Management consciousness in the organization.
Within this mentality, mandatory nowadays, each
sector, department and manager is responsible for
guaranteeing the environmental aspects of their respective
activities, according to the scope of the certification.
The Environmental Department of an organization
has its initial responsibility in the implementation
process of each requirement, by the means
of training, procedure elaboration and the needed
management tools. After the implementation, its
role will be of an internal consultant, in other words,
guaranteeing the update of legal aspects and its respective
licensing, besides providing support, recycling
of concepts and orientations when necessary,
for each sector to, with its own resources, conduct
its activities in an environmentally sustainable way.
