He began his professional career at the Ministry ofIndustry and Commerce where he managed many positions, including Coordinator of theMinister´s Economics Advisors, and Secretariat for Coordination and Planning and GeneralSecretariat Deputy. Moreover, he served from 1985 to 1990 as Technical Director of Sebrae- a national organization that supports small businesses in Brazil.
