CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAISA acção F6 do Projecto <strong>LIFE</strong> <strong>Priolo</strong> foi concluí<strong>da</strong> com a elaboração <strong>de</strong>ste relatório, noentanto existem ain<strong>da</strong> por avaliar resultados respeitantes às activi<strong>da</strong><strong>de</strong>s não contempla<strong>da</strong>s noplano inicial <strong>de</strong> monitorização.A inclusão <strong>de</strong> um plano <strong>de</strong> monitorização <strong>da</strong> espécie no Projecto <strong>LIFE</strong> <strong>Priolo</strong> revelouser bastante conveniente, uma vez que através <strong>da</strong> implementação <strong>de</strong>ste plano foi possívelcompreen<strong>de</strong>r mais abrangentemente a ecologia <strong>da</strong> população <strong>de</strong> <strong>Priolo</strong>. De tal modo, queforam levanta<strong>da</strong>s novas questões inicialmente não i<strong>de</strong>aliza<strong>da</strong>s à medi<strong>da</strong> que se procurava teruma compreensão mais ampla <strong>de</strong>sta espécie singular. Esta ambição <strong>de</strong> conseguir ter umapercepção global <strong>da</strong> sua biologia e ecologia foi correspondi<strong>da</strong> muitas vezes obtendo-se algunsresultados pertinentes.Os últimos censos vieram <strong>de</strong>monstrar que, apesar <strong>da</strong> população <strong>de</strong>sta ave seencontrar fortemente ameaça<strong>da</strong>, ain<strong>da</strong> possui alguma capaci<strong>da</strong><strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> resposta, em relação àprogressiva fragmentação e diminuição qualitativa e quantitativa do habitat disponível,explorando novas áreas, <strong>de</strong> alimentação e provavelmente <strong>de</strong> reprodução.Os mapas <strong>de</strong> distribuição invernal <strong>da</strong> população como <strong>de</strong> distribuição <strong>da</strong> populaçãodurante a época <strong>de</strong> nidificação põem em causa uma reconsi<strong>de</strong>ração dos limites <strong>da</strong> ZPE Pico<strong>da</strong> Vara / Ribeira do Guilherme <strong>de</strong> modo a que possa englobar to<strong>da</strong> a área <strong>de</strong> distribuição<strong>de</strong>sta espécie.48 Monitorização <strong>da</strong> população <strong>de</strong> <strong>Priolo</strong>.
