English synopsis We find ourselves at the home of the Goodman family, an ordinary family trying to piece together life one day at a time, facing the challenges that life brings. Mom Diana has been living with bipolar disorder for many years, and the significant swings between depressive and manic periods are becoming a growing problem for both herself and the family. She visits Dr. Fine, who prescribes a variety of medications, each with different side effects. When Diana feels almost numb and deprived of all emotions, she wants to try other treatments. With the help of her husband Dan, she seeks out Dr. Madden, who tries psychotherapy, then hypnosis, and finally electroconvulsive therapy, which turns out to cause memory loss. Diana is unhappy that she isn't getting better and feels guilty that Dan has to take care of both her and most things at home. Dan does everything to support his wife but worries as he sees the woman he loves changing. He wonders how long he can endure if she doesn't recover and fears she might leave him. He does his best to hold the family together and finds joy in the times when he manages to gather everyone around the dinner table. The son, Gabriel, who is about to turn 18, is a mama's boy. Gabriel and Diana have a warm relationship and can talk about almost anything. He often appears when she has something on her mind, and she listens to his advice. Younger sister Natalie, who is 16, is very ambitious and diligent in school. She is also skilled at playing the piano and often seeks solace in music. Natalie understands that Gabriel means more to Diana than she does, and she suffers from her mother not caring about her as much. Henrik, who goes to the same school as Natalie, falls in love with her, and despite her reservations, he continues trying to convince her that he is the right one. Dan invites Henrik to a family dinner, and he accepts despite Natalie's protests. Dan is happy that they can sit down together, almost like a normal family, and thinks that maybe everything will be okay. But when Diana comes in with a cake to celebrate Gabriel's 18th birthday, the good mood is shattered... Michael Jansson, Osvar Pierrou Lindén, Åsa Fång Rasmus Mononen
