in 2009 in order to preserve and
display the archaeological remains
found during the excavations of a
hotel construction in Antakya city
center, and was transferred to the
Ministry of Culture and Tourism
in 2019 and opened to visitors. In
the museum, you will have the op
portunity to see the archaeological
layers of the city’s 2300 years of long
settlement history, sometimes over
lapping and sometimes intertwined,
and artifacts unearthed during the
excavations of these layers.
