Charm and commitment<br />
First of all I did a commercial apprenticeship,<br />
then I started off as an executive<br />
secretary and ended up as an assistant in<br />
the HR department at Swisscom. After<br />
five years in that job, I <strong>to</strong>ok my Federal<br />
Diploma specializing in personnel<br />
management, which enabled me <strong>to</strong> take<br />
on added responsibilities as an HR<br />
consultant. I love horse riding, travelling<br />
and painting, and dreamed of reducing<br />
my working h<strong>our</strong>s. Then I saw that<br />
Post Finance was advertising a job for a<br />
part-time (70%) HR manager in Bulle. I<br />
was interested, I applied and I got the job.<br />
Two and a half years later my partner,<br />
whom I’d just met and who is now my<br />
husband, suggested I spend a year<br />
travelling round the world with him in a<br />
4x4. That was an offer I couldn’t refuse!<br />
I handed in my notice, aware that I<br />
wouldn’t be guaranteed a job on my<br />
return. When I returned, I worked as an

HR manager in the building trade for two<br />
and a half years. Then Post Finance offered<br />
me a part-time (80%) job in Lausanne,<br />
which is where I still am <strong>to</strong>day and which<br />
fits in perfectly with what I love doing.<br />
Performance and passion<br />
My role is <strong>to</strong> provide help and support<br />
<strong>to</strong> managers so they can manage their staff<br />
better. My colleague and I take care<br />
of recruiting staff and training managers<br />
across all of French-speaking Switzerland.<br />
Once a month, we get <strong>to</strong>gether with <strong>our</strong><br />
HR colleagues in Berne <strong>–</strong> there are around<br />
15 of us spread out across the country.<br />
Even though we’re far apart, the atmosphere<br />
is excellent. I can organize my work<br />
independently, my tasks are varied, and<br />
I travel a lot <strong>from</strong> place <strong>to</strong> place each day.<br />
Enc<strong>our</strong>agement and challenges<br />
The changes at Post Finance mean that my<br />
job has altered radically over the last few<br />
years. Previously, I was the main point of<br />
contact for line managers and also for staff,<br />
for all sorts of general questions. With<br />
the introduction of service centres, we’ve<br />
been able <strong>to</strong> devote <strong>our</strong>selves fully <strong>to</strong><br />
supporting management, which gives the<br />
company real added value.<br />
The <strong>to</strong>ols we have at <strong>our</strong> disposal are<br />
extremely modern <strong>–</strong> I’d even call them<br />
cutting-edge. Thanks <strong>to</strong> these <strong>to</strong>ols,<br />
we can carry out truly professional HR<br />
work, which is very motivating. And it’s<br />
also partly thanks <strong>to</strong> these <strong>to</strong>ols that<br />
we’ve recently won the Swiss HR Award.<br />
I also appreciate the openness here at<br />
Post Finance. Everyone is responsible for<br />
their own professional development, and<br />
the company invests a lot in training.<br />
