Charm and commitment
First of all I did a commercial apprenticeship,
then I started off as an executive
secretary and ended up as an assistant in
the HR department at Swisscom. After
five years in that job, I took my Federal
Diploma specializing in personnel
management, which enabled me to take
on added responsibilities as an HR
consultant. I love horse riding, travelling
and painting, and dreamed of reducing
my working hours. Then I saw that
Post Finance was advertising a job for a
part-time (70%) HR manager in Bulle. I
was interested, I applied and I got the job.
Two and a half years later my partner,
whom I’d just met and who is now my
husband, suggested I spend a year
travelling round the world with him in a
4x4. That was an offer I couldn’t refuse!
I handed in my notice, aware that I
wouldn’t be guaranteed a job on my
return. When I returned, I worked as an

HR manager in the building trade for two
and a half years. Then Post Finance offered
me a part-time (80%) job in Lausanne,
which is where I still am today and which
fits in perfectly with what I love doing.
Performance and passion
My role is to provide help and support
to managers so they can manage their staff
better. My colleague and I take care
of recruiting staff and training managers
across all of French-speaking Switzerland.
Once a month, we get together with our
HR colleagues in Berne – there are around
15 of us spread out across the country.
Even though we’re far apart, the atmosphere
is excellent. I can organize my work
independently, my tasks are varied, and
I travel a lot from place to place each day.
Encouragement and challenges
The changes at Post Finance mean that my
job has altered radically over the last few
years. Previously, I was the main point of
contact for line managers and also for staff,
for all sorts of general questions. With
the introduction of service centres, we’ve
been able to devote ourselves fully to
supporting management, which gives the
company real added value.
The tools we have at our disposal are
extremely modern – I’d even call them
cutting-edge. Thanks to these tools,
we can carry out truly professional HR
work, which is very motivating. And it’s
also partly thanks to these tools that
we’ve recently won the Swiss HR Award.
I also appreciate the openness here at
Post Finance. Everyone is responsible for
their own professional development, and
the company invests a lot in training.
