Club 40 Kokoda – Brad, Stuart and Rodney
What has inspired you to raise money for people living with tuberous sclerosis?
One of our close friends has a daughter with tuberous sclerosis, and it has been inspiring to see how they
have met the challenges that come with it. Their ongoing positive attitude and ability to maintain their quality
of life has been a real inspiration to us, and their extended family and friends.
Total raised
so far: over
$3,000
What are you doing as part of your fundraising effort?
We recently decided to walk the Kokoda track and thought it was a good opportunity to raise funds for a charity. We chose Tuberous
Sclerosis Australia and created a fundraising page on Everydayhero.
We raided our email contact lists and distributed to family, friends and business contacts- directing them to our page on the ‘Everyday
Hero’ fundraising website
www.give.everydayhero.com/au/club-40-kokoda
We set a modest fundraising target and revised that once it was quickly achieved. By the time we complete the walk in April, we hope to
have achieved the new target, and possibly more.
What advice would you give others considering raising funds to help people with TSC?
Don’t be shy to approach anyone and everyone. We’ve generally found people are more than willing to donate, especially when there is a
personal side to the cause.
Could you be
a hero?
The TSC Heroes team has raised over $50,000 since
its inception in 2014. Members have run, cycled and
swum to support people living with tuberous sclerosis.
We’ll be there every step of the way to support you
with ideas, uniforms and promotions.
