Unit 5 Assessment: Preparation and Evaluation ## Think about the content area in which
you plan to teach. Evaluate and explain which assessment tools, methods, and types of diagnostic testing will best
assess students in your content area. How will these tools, methods, and testing help you plan to avoid student failure?
Also provide an example of the grading system that you would use. Explain what you would consider success or failure
within your grading system. Be sure to use your textbook and/or Kaplan University library journal articles to support your
choices. Select two of your classmates responses. Imagine that you are their teacher mentor. Review their assessment
strategies and compare them to what you know about this topic through your textbook readings and/or journal articles.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the strategies they chose?

Discuss how diagnostic testing can help teachers plan to help students avoid failure.
Choose a grading system to implement in a classroom.
It also addresses the following course outcomes:
ED531-2: Analyze reasons for student failure.
ED531-3: Design assessment devices for multiple learning experiences.
