Prayer Meeting
Prayer Meeting will be held this Wednesday evening, October 12, at 7:00 pm. Prayer
Meeting will be held for adults and university students in the main sanctuary, and
Prayer Meeting for youth and teens will be held in the Moseley Complex Chapel.
Stewardship Corner
“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but
to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 8:8) Some
people are very specific in calculating their Tithe and severely honest in figuring the
amount of their Combined Budget Offering, but fail to understand other important
issues. These things we ought to do and not leave other important things undone.
Even as Jesus wants you to be faithful in giving, He also wants you to show justice, to
love mercy, and to walk in a humble relationship with Him and our fellow brothers
and sisters. God’s requirements clearly express His priorities.
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) Building Project
Please be mindful of our financial commitment to the OAA Building Project. Given
our church obligation of $3,000,000.00, the Oakwood University Church makes a
monthly payment to satisfy this commitment. Let us all support this collective
responsibility through our systematic financial support, which is in addition to our
normal Tithe and Combined Budget Offering. All donations, large or small, are sincerely
appreciated. Kindly mark on your offering envelope, “OAA Building Fund.”
“Restoration 40” - Construction of Family Life Center
Construction for our new Family Life Center has begun! Praise the Lord! Please be
mindful to govern the new parking and driveway guidelines. Also, everyone is kindly
asked to reach a minimum goal of $1,000.00 per person for this project. This can be
done through a one time gift, systematic monthly gifts, or the solicitation of donations
from family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and businesses (in addition to
your normal Tithe and Combined Budget Offering). Donations can be made via your
offering envelope and labeled, “Restoration 40.”
the choirs will sing during a special “Prelude of Praise” period (10:30 am), along with
ministering during the Divine Worship Experience (11:00 am) in the form of a “200 Voice
Mass Choir.” At 5:00 pm, there will be a special musical concert featuring all of the
aforementioned academy choirs. Immediately following the afternoon concert, there will
be a basketball tournament inclusive of all of the academies in the Oakwood Adventist
Academy Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 pm, and continuing Sunday morning, October
