Prayer Meeting
Prayer Meeting will be held this Wednesday evening, March 21, at 7:00 pm. We will
continue with our March Prayer Meeting Series on “The Four F’s of Practical Living:
Future, Faith, Finances, and Family.” Our special guest speaker this Wednesday,
March 21, will be Dr. John Matthews, Stewardship Director for the North American
Division (NAD). On Wednesday, March 28, our special guest presenters will be Rick
and Denise Mathis, Certified Marriage Mentors and Registered Premarital Counseling
Source Providers. All are encouraged to attend on Wednesday evenings.
Stewardship Corner
Jesus speaks about two men - one is extremely rich, the other is unimaginably poor.
The rich man enjoyed the best of everything. The poor man, Lazarus, on the other
hand, had nothing. His only companions were the many dogs who licked his sores.
The crumbs were his only comfort that fell from the rich man’s table. The rich man
may have thought he was doing his duty simply letting Lazarus eat leftovers from his
table, but God required more. The rich man had the resources to relieve Lazarus’
suffering, but he did next to nothing. Our salvation is by grace. It doesn’t depend on
how much or how little we do for those who are less fortunate than we are, but rather
sharing our resources with those who have less than we do is an indication that we
have been touched by God’s grace, and that He has given us a heart to minister to
“one of the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). This is what it means to be a faithful
steward.
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) Building Project
Please be mindful of our financial commitment to the OAA Building Project. Given
our church obligation of $3,000,000.00, the OUC makes a monthly payment to satisfy
this commitment. Let us all support this collective responsibility through our systematic
financial support, which is in addition to our normal Tithe and Combined Budget
Offering. All donations, large or small, are sincerely appreciated. Kindly mark on
your offering envelope, “OAA Building Fund.”
“Restoration 40” - Family Life Center
Our Family Life Center is completed! We still, however, need your financial support
to this building project. Each member is kindly asked to reach a minimum goal of
$1,000.00 for this project (in addition to your normal Tithe and Combined Budget
Offering). If you have reached your $1,000.00 goal, please feel free to give additional
funds. Donations can be made via your offering envelope and labeled, “Restoration
40.” All donations are needed and sincerely appreciated. Thank you very much for
your continued support to this project.
Welcome
and Tammy Gangl of “Family Life Blended.” For more information, please contact Dr.
Belvia Matthews at belviamatthews@gmail.com.
this Thirteen Session Training Program is $250.00 per person. Topics include nutrition,
massage therapy, foods that heal, vegetarian cooking, natural remedies, and much more.
Health Nugget: Colorectal cancer is the nation’s second-leading cause of cancer related
deaths, yet it is one of only a few cancers that can be prevented. Through proper
colorectal cancer screening, doctors can find and remove hidden growths (called “polyps”)
in the colon, before they become cancerous. In fact, removing polyps can prevent cancer
altogether. (Source: www.vidanthealth.com)
