Fathers’ Day activity
Fathers Day at REPS
On December 2, 2016, REPS held its annual Father’s Day celebration, a national holiday
which is observed by Thais on December 5th. This year’s ceremony was not only to honour
fathers throughout the Kingdom of Thailand, but it was also a special commemoration of
the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s longest reigning monarch. King Bhumibol
Adulyadej passed away on October 13, 2016 after ruling the Kingdom for 70 years.
The short program at REPS included songs from the students of kindergarten, primary, and
secondary, all meant to pay tribute to Thailand’s beloved King Rama 9th.
More importantly, in honor of the late King, REPS managed to give about 18,000 kilograms
of rice donations to charity organizations, including Bookchu Home for Special Needs
Children, Mercy Centre in Pattaya, and the Hand to Hand Foundation. Special thanks to all
the parents who supported this projected with their generous donations of rice.
The day ended as parents, teachers, and students assembled together to form the Thai
numeral 9, which is of significance to the late King of Thailand as he was the 9th kind to
rule Thailand from the Chakri Dynasty.

This year Nursery and Kindergarten students all played for one
of the TEAM colors; Red, Green, Purple or Yellow. The Teams
competed in a variety of sport games to win medals for 1st, 2nd
and tied for 3rd place. The students enjoyed snacks and
ice-cream during the breaks between games. Many parents
came to watch and help cheer for the teams!

กิจกรรมกีฬำสีฝ่ำยอนุบำล วันที่ 7 ธันวำคม
ส าหรับกิจกรรมกีฬาสีในปีนี ้ นักเรียนชั้นเนอสเซอรี ่และนักเรียนอนุบาลของเรา ได้รวมสี
ด้วยกัน ซึ ่งกีฬาสีของเราแบ่งเป็น สีแดง สีเขียว สีม่วง และสีเหลือง แต่ละทีมก็ได้รับชัยชนะ
ในกีฬาที ่แตกต่างกันไป เมื ่อนับคะแนนรวมแล้ว ก็จะได้รับเหรียญรางวัลตามล าดับ โดยมี
ล าดับที ่ 1 ล าดับที ่ 2 และล าดับที ่ 3 มีสองทีม เด็กๆ มีความสนุกสนานในการเล่นกีฬา
ร่วมกัน และระหว่างช่วงพักเบรกก็มีความสุขกับการกินขนมและไอครีม ในวันพิเศษนี ้ มี
ผู้ปกครองหลายท่านมาเป็นก าลังใจและร่วมเชียร์เด็กๆ กันอย่างครึกครื ้น...เย้..เย้

Sports Day
Sports Day
On Tuesday, 6 December, Rayong English Programme School held
its annual Sports Day competition. Students competed to earn
points for their perspective house colours. Students took part and
earned points for their team in the following events: sprinting, shot
put and long jump. There were also various tournaments leading
up to Sports Day which they competed in such as, football, chair
ball and a swimming gala. A special mention has to go to
Diamond in P6 who had the longest jump in the entire primary
and secondary. After a hard fought day of activity, competition
and fun, there was a clear winner. The Red team dominated and
won with an impressive 206 points. It just goes to show that every
point counts and every students' contribution was important. Well
done to PE staff, teachers and of course students who got fully
involved to make the day a great success.

ในวันอังคารที ่ 6 ธันวาคม โรงเรียนสองภาษาระยองได้จัดการแข่งขันกีฬาสีประจ าปี
ขึ ้น นักเรียนแข่งขันกีฬาโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื ่อชิงความเป็นหนึ ่งด้านกีฬาให้ในแต่
ละสี ส าหรับชนิดกีฬาที ่มีการแข่งขันในวันกีฬาสีคือ กีฬาประเภทลู ่ประเภทลาน คือ
วิ่ง , วิ่งผลัด , ทุ่มน ้าหนัก , กระโดดไกล และยังมีการแข่งขันอีกหลายรายที ่แข่ง
สะสมแต้มมาก่อนวันกีฬาสี คือ ฟุตบอล , แชร์บอล , การแข่งขันว่ายน ้า
รางวัลพิเศษด้านกีฬาในปีนี ้ตกเป็นของ ไดมอล นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที ่ 6 ผู้ซึ ่ง
ท าสถิติกระโดดไกลได้ไกลที ่สุดในบรรดานักกีฬาทั้งระดับประถมและมัธยมที ่เข้าท า
การแข่งขัน หลังจากแข่งขันที ่เข้มข้น สนุกสนานจบลงก็ได้ผลสรุปว่า สีแดงเป็นสีที ่
ชนะการแข่งขันกีฬาสีในปีนี ้ โดยชนะไปด้วยคะแนนรวมที ่น่าประทับใจ 206 คะแนน
ทั้งหมดนี ้ถือได้ว่าเป็นผลงานที ่ส าคัญของนักเรียนทุกคน ในส่วนของคุณครูในหมวด
วิชาพละศึกษาก็ท างานดีมาก คุณครูทุกท่านในโรงเรียนและนักเรียนทุกคนให้ความ
ร่วมมือเพื ่อท าให้งานกีฬาสีเป็นความส าเร็จที ่ยิ่งใหญ่

Loi Krathong activity
On the morning of November 14th the Kindergarten at Rayong
English Programme School (REPS) observed the annual festival of
Loi Krathong, which does not occur on the same date every year;
instead it is observed on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar
month usually in November. In Thai, Loi or Loy means to float and
Krathong means a circular floating object.
To get ready for the day our Nursery and Kindergarten classes were
busy making krathongs using paper and real flowers with banana
leaves and other decorations including a candle and incense sticks.
The traditional krathongs for floating are often made from a slice
of the trunk of a banana tree. Modern krathongs are sometimes
made of bread or even ice cream cones and can be eaten by fish.
Since we couldn’t wait for the moonlight, we carefully floated our
special krathongs and sang the Loi Krathong song in both Thai and
English. Then we danced around the krathongs floating in water.
Echoes of the song continued to float around our school all day with
students softly singing Loi, Loi Krathong.
Each class made krathongs to float and also ones to take home
and share. Throughout the day students looked lovingly at their
own krathongs. They were eager to light the incense and candle
under the full moon with their parents.
On the night of the November full moon in Thailand, people look
forward to going out and launching krathongs together to predict
the future by the direction they float. Holding the krathong
together, each one makes a wish before putting it into the water
and follows the flickering light as it carries away their wishes.
This event is also good for strengthening relationships in families
and often signifies a new beginning. The festival may originate from
an ancient ritual of paying respect to the water spirits but the
overriding theme is the same, to float away one's worries and
problems and therefore look to a better life in the future.

กิจกรรมลอยกระทง
เมื ่อเช้าวันจันทร์ ที ่ 14 พ.ย. ฝ่ายอนุบาลของโรงเรียนสองภาษาระยองได้
จัดกิจกรรมลอยกระทงขึ ้น เด็กๆ ของเราทั้งเนอสเซอรี ่และอนุบาล ได้
จัดท ากระทงในหลากหลายรูปแบบทั้งจากกระดาษ จากดอกไม้ จากใบ
กล้วย และประดับด้วยธูป เทียน ตามประเพณีการลอยกระทงของไทยเรา
อย่างไรก็ตามในปัจจุบันได้มีการปรับรูปแบบการท ากระทงที ่หลากหลาย
เช่น ท าจากโคนไอศกรีม หรือขนมปัง ซึ ่งเป็นวัสดุที ่เป็นมิตรกับธรรมชาติ
ปลาสามารถกินได้
ในวันกิจกรรม เด็กๆ และคุณครูได้ร่วมร้องเพลงลอยกระทงในเวอร์ชั่น
ของไทย และภาษาอังกฤษด้วย พร้อมทั้งการร าวงลอยกระทงรอบๆ สระ
น ้าจ าลองอย่างสนุกสนาน
เด็กๆ ของเราทุกคนได้น ากระทง ซึ ่งประดิษฐ์ขึ ้นจากความตั้งใจของพวก
เขา น ากลับไปลอยกับครอบครัวในคืนวันลอยกระทง
กิจกรรมนี ้เป็นการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที ่ดีในครอบครัว และถือเป็น
โอกาสที ่จะได้น ากระทงไปลอย เพื ่อขอขมาแม่น ้าคงคา

Primary Swim Gala
Primary Swim Gala
In an effort to continue developing the love of sports, REPS hosted
an in house Primary swim gala on November 28th. All year groups
from P1-P6 competed in a swimming competition racing for their
house teams. The four house teams swam a series of heats using
the various swim strokes: freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and
breaststroke. Both boys and girls competed with each other based
on their year groups. The grand finale was the freestyle relay which
was comprised of 4 team members swimming together against the
other teams. There was a lot of intense action and the students
and teachers were all cheering excitedly. A medal ceremony for
the students commenced the event.

ในความพยายามอย่างต่อเนื ่องที ่ก าลังพัฒนาให้นักเรียนมีความรักในกีฬา
โรงเรียนสองภาษาระยองได้จัดการแข่งขันว่ายน ้าขึ ้นภายในโรงเรียน โดย
จัดการแข่งขันในวันที ่ 28 พฤศจิกายน นักเรียนในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปี
ที ่ 1-6 ได้เป็นตัวแทนของสีตนเองเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันในครั้งนี ้ ทีมว่ายน ้า
ของทั้ง 4 สีได้ลงแข่งขันในรายการต่างๆดังนี ้ ว่ายท่าฟรีสไตล์ , ว่ายท่า
กรรเชียง ,ว่ายท่าผีเสื ้อ และว่ายท่ากบ โดยนักเรียนทั้งชายและหญิงได้ลง
แข่งในระดับชั้นเดียวกัน ปิดท้ายการแข่งขันอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ด้วยการว่ายผลัด
ท่าฟรีสไตล์โดยนักกีฬาว่ายน ้าของทั้ง 4 สีได้ลงแข่งร่วมกันเพื ่อชิงความ
เป็นจ้าวสระ
โดยการแข่งขันเป็นไปอย่างเข้มข้น นักเรียนและคุณครูก็ร่วมลุ้นกันอย่าง
ตื ่นเต้น และมีการมอบเหรียญอย่างเป็นทางการในงานกีฬาสี

Interschool Science Fair
International Science Fair
REPS hosts the First Ever Interschool Science Fair
Rayong English Program School hosted its first Interschool Science
Fair with the 3 MBf Taylor schools, namely, Garden International
School Rayong and Garden International School Bangkok, on
Tuesday November 22, 2016.
After long months of preparations and excitement, the students
of REPS, GISR and GISB met at REPS Rayong to showcase their
Science Fair projects and join science activities prepared by
students of the three schools, both from primary and secondary.
The day started with a demonstration from chosen students of
Mathayom 1 and 2. Then, the students were able to go around
the venue to join other science activities. Some of these activities
were the “Regatta”, made from aluminum foil, “Air Gliders”,
from coloured papers and the most awaited snail race.
The highlight of the day was the “Science Fair Projects”. A good
number of projects were beyond expectations and each group
was enthusiastic to present. The judges had a hard time in
choosing the best project that would win the competition.
Though it was a tiring and fun day for everybody, the students
were happy to end the day after making new friends and
knowing that they learned new things from the experience.

Interschool Science Fair
กิจกรรมวิทยาศาสตร์ กลุ ่มโรงเรียนนานาชาติ
ในปีการศึกษานี ้ โรงเรียนสองภาษาระยองของเรา ได้มีโอกาสเป็นเจ้าภาพในการจัด
กิจกรรมทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ของกลุ่มโรงเรียนนานาชาติ ซึ ่งมีโรงเรียนที ่เข้าร่วม
กิจกรรม คือ โรงเรียนนานาชาติการ์เด้น ระยอง และโรงเรียนนานาชาติการ์เด้น
กรุงเทพ เราจัดกิจกรรมขึ ้นในวันอังคาร ที ่ 22 พ.ย. 2559 หลังจากการวางแผน
เตรียมงานในระยะเวลาพอสมควร ก็ถึงวันที ่เราต้องจัดกิจกรรม นักเรียนของเราทั้ง
สามโรงเรียน ได้น าผลงานทางวิทยาศาสตร์ออกมาน าเสนอได้อย่างยอดเยี ่ยม
ที ่ส าคัญอย่างยิ่งคือ โปรเจคต่างๆ ที ่นักเรียนได้ประดิษฐ์ คิดค้น และน าเสนอนั้น
ผลงานส่วนมากท าออกมาได้ยอดเยี ่ยมจริงๆ จนท าให้กรรมการของเราต้องใช้เวลา
ปรึกษาหารือกันนานในการตัดสินเลือกผู้ชนะเลิศ
กิจกรรมนี ้ท าให้เด็กๆ ได้เรียนรู้การท างานร่วมกัน ได้สร้างมิตรภาพใหม่กับเพื ่อนต่าง
โรงเรียน ได้เรียนรู้ขบวนการคิดและสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน...ยอดเยียมทุกคนค่ะมัธยม..

Transition & Open House
...K3 Transition & Open House Day...
Parents are always eager as their young children leave
Kindergarten for the new, exciting world of Primary school. So
to help ease the anxiety, we decided to invite all of the K3
children and their parents to join us for a sneak peek into the
educational opportunities provided in REPS Primary school.
Together, with their parents, the children got to experience four
Primary lesson in a real Primary classroom. The lessons which
were taught were in English, Science, Maths and ICT using both
the Thai and English languages. The lessons were hands on,
exciting and included making parachutes to fly rubber ducks,
using scales to weigh fruit to learn about weights and measurements,
using English to learn about animals and finally using the
REPS Primary computer lab to learn about graphic design. The
children had an amazing experience and the parents were just
as eager to partake in the fun, engaging activities.

อนุบาล 3 ก้าวเข้าสู ่รั้วประถม และเปิ ดบ้านฝ่ ายประถมศึกษา
ท่านผู้ปกครองจะมีกระตือรือร้นเสมอเมื ่อบุตรหลานของท่านต้องย้ายจากฝั่งอนุบาล
เพื ่อก้าวเข้าสู ่โลกที ่น่าตื ่นเต้นในฝั่งประถมศึกษา ดังนั้นเพื ่อเป็นการช่วยให้ท่านคลาย
ความกังวล พวกเราตัดสินใจที ่จะเชิญนักเรียนในชั้นอนุบาล 3 และปกครองได้เข้ามา
มีส่วนร่วม ได้เห็นตัวอย่างการเรียนการสอนในรูปแบบการศึกษาชั้นประถมศึกษาใน
โรงเรียนของเรา นักเรียนและท่านผู้ปกครองได้รับประสบการณ์จากการเรียนการสอน
จริงทั้ง 4 บทเรียนในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษา
ในแต่ละบทเรียน วิชา ภาษาอังกฤษ, วิทยาศาสตร์, คณิตศาสตร์ และ คอมพิวเตอร์
ซึ ่งใช้ทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษในการเรียนการสอน นักเรียนได้ทดลองใช้สื ่อ
ต่างๆที ่คุณครูน ามาสอน ท าให้เกิดความตื ่นเต้นและมีการประดิษฐ์ร่มร่อนจ าลองที ่
สามารถท าให้เป็ดยางลอย, การใช้เครื ่องชั่งในการชั่งผลไม้เพื ่อเรียนรู้เรื ่องการช่าง
น ้าหนักและการวัดขนาด ,การใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเรียนรู้เรื ่องสัตว์และสุดท้ายนักเรียน
อนุบาล3 ได้มีโอกาสเข้าไปใช้ห้องเรียนคอมพิวเตอร์เพื ่อการเรียนเกี ่ยวกับการ
ออกแบบกราฟฟิคด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ นักเรียนได้รับประสบการณ์ที ่น่ามหัศจรรย์ และ
ท่านผู้ปกครองก็กระตือรือร้นพร้อมเป็นส่วนหนึ ่งของกิจกรรมอย่างสนุกสนาน

P6 and M3 transitions Day
A New Chapter in our Students’ Lives
Every year the P6 and M3 students make important transitions in their lives. To help them
move smoothly from one phase to another, REPS organizes annual transition days. From team
building with upper class men to knowing the teachers and subjects, our transition days for
students and parents are always full of information.
On Thursday November 10th, our P6 students joined their friends in M1 for a half-day of fun and
activities to demonstrate some of what secondary has to offer. The students participated in
math, science, and language activities, including Thai, English, and Chinese. They then got to
play some competitive sport with their friends from M1. This activity day was followed by
Secondary Open House on Saturday November 12th. Parents and students visited the secondary
department and saw samples of what our secondary students could do. They visited classroom
and science laboratories and listened to information about our university programs and the
benefits of studying at REPS.
The M3 students experienced something similar on Friday November 11th. In the morning of
November 11th, the M3 students participated in team building activities organized by the M4s.
Together the two year-groups played games and got to know each other better. The afternoon
session included visits from Mahidol and Thammasat universities, who were here to inform the
students and parents of their programs and the quotas our school has with them.
At REPS we believe that academics are very important. However, for a student to be successful
in his or her studies, he or she must be mentally and emotionally happy. There is no better way
of doing this than making students feel comfortable in their surroundings and letting them
know that they are never alone. In addition to the support of teachers, our students in
secondary are always looking out for their younger peers, so getting to know each other before
the big transition is a vital part of success.

ก้ำวต่อไปในรั้วบ้ำนมัธยม...
ในทุกๆ ปี เราจะจัดกิจกรรมปฐมนิเทศและให้ความรู้เกี ่ยวกับการเลื ่อนชั้นแก่นักเรียนชั้น ป.6 และ ม.3 ซึ ่งถือเป็นช่วงเปลี ่ยนที
ส าคัญของชีวิต ซึ ่งจะช่วยให้พวกเขาได้เตรียมพร้อมอย่างสมบูรณ์ในการเลื ่อนชั้น ซึ ่งเรามีคณะครูจากระดับชั้นที ่นักเรียนจะ
เลื ่อนชั้นขึ ้นไปเรียน จัดกิจกรรมให้ความรู้เบื ้องต้นในวิชาต่างๆ ที ่จะเรียน และให้แนวทางในการเรียนต่อนักเรียน พร้อมทั้ง
ข้อมูลที ่ส าคัญต่อท่านผู้ปกครองด้วย
ในช่วงครึ ่งวันเช้าของวันพฤหัสบดีที ่ 10 พฤศจิกายน นักเรียน ป.6 ของเราได้มีโอกาสเข้าเรียนในระดับ ม.1 ซึ ่งเต็มไปด้วย
ความสนุกสนานและบรรยากาศแห่งการเรียนรู้ นักเรียนได้มีส่วนร่วมในคณิตศาสตร์ วิทยาศาสตร์ และกิจกรรมทางภาษา ทั้ง
ภาษาไทย ภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาจีน จากนั้นนักเรียนก็ได้ร่วมกิจกรรมการแข่งขันกีฬากับเพื ่อนๆ และเรายังมีกิจกรรมเปิด
บ้านมัธยม Open House ในวันเสาร์ที ่ 12 พฤศจิกายน ซึ ่งมีปกครองและนักเรียนเข้าเยี ่ยมชมแผนกมัธยม และได้เห็นตัวอย่าง
ของสิ่งที ่นักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาของเราได้ท าไว้ ทั้งยังได้เข้าเยี ่ยมชมห้องเรียนและห้องปฏิบัติการวิทยาศาสตร์ รวมทั้งเข้า
รับฟังข้อมูลเกี ่ยวกับคณะวิชาต่างๆ ที ่มหาวิทยาลัยได้ให้โควต้ากับโรงเรียนของเรา
นักเรียน ม.3 ก็ได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเพื ่อเสริมสร้างประสบการณ์ของการเลื ่อนชั้น คล้ายๆ กัน ในวันศุกร์ที ่ 11 พฤศจิกายน
ในช่วงเช้านักเรียน ม.3 ได้มีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมการสร้างทีมงาน ที ่จัดขึ ้นโดยรุ่นพี ่ ม.4 ซึ ่งทั้งน้องและพี ่ได้ร่วมท ากิจกรรมและ

เรียนได้ จะต้องมีความสุขภาพจิตที ่ดีและแข็งแรงด้วยเช่นกัน ไม่มีวิธีไหนที ่ดีกว่า การท าให้นักเรียนรู้สึกสะดวกสบาย
ปลอดภัย และมั่นใจในสภาพแวดล้อมที ่พวกเขาเรียนรู้ ไม่ปล่อยให้นักเรียนรู้สึกโดดเดี ่ยว โดยมี
คุณครูคอยดูแลให้การสนับสนุนในการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียนอย่างใกล้ชิด และที ่ส าคัญนักเรียนรุ่นพี ่จะ
คอยดูแลช่วยเหลือรุ่นน้องอยู ่เสมอ และนี ่คือส่วนหนึ ่งที ่เป็นส าคัญของความส าเร็จในการศึกษาเล่า

Entrepreneur’s Day
This year at REPS we wanted to try to do something a
little different and fun. T. Colette and T. Courtney, two
of our outstanding Primary teachers, came up with a
brilliant idea to do just that. For the very first time at
REPS, we offered the Primary Year 6 students the
opportunity to be entrepreneurs! The idea was simple
but was also a very practical lesson in real life business
start-up. The students were asked to come up with a
business idea, create a business plan, produce a budget
and finally they sold their goods to the other Primary
students. Products ranged from desserts, baked goods,
Thai spicy salad, smoothies, sandwiches, and even
bracelets that could be pre-ordered and delivered.
Using real money, the students were asked to get
“investments” from their parents and, upon paying
back their loans, they got to keep all of the profits!
The students had a blast and nearly all of the shops
sold out of their goods.
ในปีนี ้ทางโรงเรียนสองภาษาระยองพวกเรามีความต้องการ
พยายามหากิจกรรมในที ่แตกต่างและสนุก โดยมี คุณครูโคเลท
และคุณครู ครอทนี ่ คุณครูทั้งสองท่านนี ้เป็นคุณครูประถมที ่มี
ความสามารถโดดเด่น ทั้งสองมีแนวความคิดดีๆมากมาย กิจกรรม
นี ้จัดขึ ้นเป็นปีแรก ทางโรงเรียนจึงมอบโอกาสให้นักเรียน
ประถมศึกษาปีที ่ 6 ท าหน้าที ่เป็นผู้ขายสินค้า จากแนวความคิด
ง่ายๆแต่สามารถฝึกฝนให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้การริเริ่มท าธุรกิจใน
ชีวิตจริงและสินค้าที ่เตรียมมาก็ได้ขายให้กับนักเรียนในระดับชั้น
ประถมศึกษา ประเภทของสินค้าที ่น ามาขาย จัดอยู ่ในพวก ขนม
หวาน, ขนมอบ, ย า, น ้าผลไม้ปั่น, แซนวิช และงานประดิษฐ์สร้อย
ข้อมือซึ ่งผู้ซื ้อสามารถสั่งจองล่วงหน้าและส่งให้กับลูกค้าได้ตาม
ความต้องการ
การได้ใช้เงินของจริงโดยนักเรียนขอยืมเงินที ่ใช้ในลงทุนจากท่าน
ผู้ปกครองและจ่ายเงินที ่ยืมมาคืนกลับสู ่ปกครอง ส่วนของก าไร
นักเรียนเป็นผู้เก็บไว้ นักเรียนสนุกมาก
กับกิจกรรมนี ้และทุกร้านก็สามารถขาย
สินค้าได้เกือบแทบจะหมด
