The author of our text argues that, The most important words a journalist writes are headlines. Reflect: Take a
look at the following headlines and consider why each is ineffective as written. What might be a more effective version of
each headline? ? Explosion-fire damages tire company and injures owner ? FBI probes attorney?s death
by hanging in Midville jail ? Custody war looms over kidnap victim ? Earlier deadlines and new
nightmares for some taxpayers ? Two children caught in house fire die from smoke Write: Write a 250-
to 300-word response that explains the importance of a well-written headline. Explain your view giving examples from
revised versions of the above headlines and from a recent news article you located from the Associated Press. In your
initial post, you must include at least one in-text citation from the reading material and an additional in-text citation from a
scholarly source that you locate. At the end of your post, include your name and a full reference for all sources cited in
the body of your post. All citaitons and references must adhere to APA style guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing
Center. Check it! Your assignment must be submitted through Grammarly and Turn it in prior to submission.
Respond to Peers: After you have written your initial post, read the posts of your peers and respond to at least two
others about what makes a well-written headline. Your responses should address them by name, be between 100 and
150 words in length, and you must include your name at the end of each response. Carefully review the
