Not only is she the descendant
of the creator of a well-
-known whisky, she is also
the author of many cooking
books and the owner of a family
hotel. She has a special
occupation – she is the
official alcohol taster in the
Jack Daniel’s factory.
ynne Tolley, ktorá sa koncom minulého
roka objavila aj na Slovensku, patrí
ku štvrtej generácii príbuzných po
známom zakladateľovi najpredávanejšej whisky
sveta Jack Daniel`s. Jej stará matka bola sestra
Lema Motlowa - synovca Jacka Daniela. Práve
on prevzal vedenie liehovaru po smrti slávneho
zakladateľa alkoholického nápoja. Lynne je teda
prapraneter samotného Jacka Daniela. Svojho
praprastrýka však nepoznala. „Hoci mám veľa
vrások, nie toľko, aby som sa s ním stretla,“ smeje
sa dedička Lynne. Napriek tomu, že vyrastala
na dvore liehovaru, nikdy neuvažovala o tom,
že by sa venovala práve práci v rodinnej firme.
Keď skončila na Univerzite Georgia s titulom
v oblasti výživy, začala pôsobiť ako odborníčka
pre desať krajov v americkom štáte Tennessee.
Až keď ju táto práca začala nudiť, rozhodla sa
vrátiť do rodného Lynchburgu a začať pracovať
pre rodinný liehovar. Osudné rozhodnutie!

Lynne Tolley, who visited Slovakia at the end of last
year, belongs to the fourth generation of Jack Daniel’s
descendants. Her grandmother was the sister
of Lem Motlow – Jack Daniel’s cousin, who took
over the directorate of the famed distillery after the
death of its well-known founder. Lynne is therefore
the grand-grandniece of Jack Daniel’s. However, she
never got to meet him personally. “I have a lot of
wrinkles, that is a fact, but they are still not enough.
That means that I haven’t met him,” says Lynne with
a smile on her face. Despite the fact that she grew
up in a distillery, she never thought about working
in her family’s company. When she finished her
studies at the University of Georgia with a master’s
degree in nourishment, she started to work
as a professional for ten regions in the American
state of Tennessee. After she became really bored
of the job, she returned to the place she was born.
Lynchburg greeted her and she started to work for
the family company. She says that it was fate!
