Liebe Leser,
La Palma bietet nicht nur Wanderern
atemberaubende Ausblicke über die Insel.
Auch auf dem Wasser und unterhalb der
Wasserlinie bieten sich dem Urlauber
fantastische Perspektiven. Geht man
noch weiter, zeigt sich auch nachts über
der Insel eine Welt, die wir so ausgeprägt
kein zweites Mal vorfinden. Verlassen wir
die greifbaren Elemente und tauchen ab
in die Eindrücke eines Hobbyastrologen,
der uns seine Sicht auf die Sterne näher
bringt.
Und nachdem wir seit der letzten Ausgabe
in neuem Layout und drei Sprachen
erscheinen, freuen wir uns über den
großen Zuwachs an Kunden und lassen
unser Magazin, La Palma para ti, um
einige Seiten wachsen.
Wir bedanken uns bei allen, die uns ihr
Vertrauen schenken.

También desde el agua y bajo el nivel del
mar, se ofrecen fantásticas perspectivas.
Asimismo, de noche sobre la isla se
encuentra un mundo, que en ningún otro
lugar se halla tan desarrollado como aquí.
Abandonamos los elementos alcanzables
y nos adentramos en las impresiones de
un astrólogo aficionado, que nos presenta
su visión de ellas estrellas.
Desde nuestra última edición y de ahora
en adelante, aparecemos en un nuevo
Layout y en tres idiomas, nos alegramos
de nuestro crecimiento en clientes y
ampliamos nuestra revista “La Palma
para ti “ algunas páginas.

La Palma not only presents hikers with
breathtaking views of the Island, but also
offers fantastic perspectives from on and
below sea level, and at night above the
Island you will find another world. Nowhere
else is it as highly developed as it is here.
Abandoning the things which are within
reach we can enter into the impressions of
a keen Astrologer who reveals his visions of
the stars to us.
Since our previous edition, we will be
continuing with the new layout in three
different languages. We are very pleased to
have a growing number of clients and as such
we have been able to expand the magazine
“La Palma para ti “ by some pages.

Activities in, on and around the Atlantic Ocean
Das Gesicht unseres Planeten Erde hat
sich im Laufe seiner Geschichte ständig
verändert. Kontinente und Meere
haben sich in Größe und Lage verändert
und unsere Sicht auf das Heute ist darum
gewissermaßen nur eine Momentaufnahme.
Gegenwärtig bedecken 29% Landmassen
die Oberfläche aber 71% nimmt
das Weltmeer ein. Der Atlantik ist mit einer
Wasseroberfläche von rund 106,2 Millionen
km² der zweitgrößte Ozean der Welt. Der so
genannte offene Atlantik bedeckt dabei alleine
eine Fläche von rund 82,2 Millionen
km². Von Australien einmal abgesehen
berührt er alle Kontinente des Globus. La
Palma bettet sich in dieses riesige tiefblaue
Meer und bietet eine Fülle an Aktivitäten
auf, im und am Atlantik. Welche das sind,
erfahren Sie auf den folgenden Seiten.
El aspecto de nuestro planeta Tierra ha
cambiado continuamente a lo largo de
su historia. Continentes y mares cambiaron
en cuanto a tamaño y localización, por
lo que el ahora es solo una captura momentánea.
Actualmente un 29% lo cubren masas
de tierras pero el 71% lo forman las masas
de agua. El Océano Atlántico, con una superficie
de 106,2 millones km², es el segundo
océano más grande del planeta. Una parte de
él, el llamado océano abierto, cubre ya una
superficie de 82,2 millones km². Dejando a
un lado Australia, toca todos los continentes
del globo terráqueo. La Palma se sitúa en este
enorme mar azul profundo y ofrece una gran
cantidad de actividades sobre, en y cerca del
Atlántico. Cuáles son estas actividades lo podrás

The appearance of our planet Earth has
been continually changing throughout
its history. Continents and Oceans
have changed in size and location, so their
present appearance is just a passing phase.
Currently, only 29% of the Earth´s surface
is covered by land mass and 71% is water
mass. The Atlantic Ocean, with a surface
area of 106.2 million square km, is the
second largest Ocean on the planet. The
part known as the Open Ocean, covers an
area of 82.2 million square km. The Atlantic
touches all the continents of the globe except
Australia. La Palma, situated in this enormous
deep blue Ocean, offers a wealth of
activities in, on and around the Atlantic. You

Die Küstenbereiche der Insel sind vom
Land aus nur an wenigen Stellen und
überwiegend nur über längere Fusswege
erreichbar, was einen Ausflug übers Wasser um
so interessanter macht. Im Hafen von Tazacorte
finden Interessierte verschiedene Anbieter für
Bootsausflüge. Unterwegs erhält man Gelegenheit
zum Schnorcheln und Baden im kristallklaren
Meer und wird mit insel typischen Tapas
verköstigt. In gemütlicher, privater Atmosphäre
schippert man z.B. auf dem alten Krabbenkutter
„Bussard“ entlang der schroffen Küstenlandschaft
von La Palma und lässt an Deck mal so
richitg die Seele baumeln. Exklusive Ausflüge
mit Freunden und/oder der Familie bieten auch
die Betreiber von „La Palma Atlantic Experience“
an. Individuelle Bootsfahrten findet man z.B.
bei „LaPalma Explorer“, Sie entscheiden, wofür
Sie die Zeit Ihrer Reise übers Wasser nutzen.
Wanderer können sich entlang der malerischen
Küstez.B. zu einem bestimmten Punkt der Insel
bringen oder von dort abholen lassen, die Cueva
Bonita besuchen oder an bezaubernden Orten
schwimmen, die von Land aus nur mit dem Boot
erreichbar sind.

Wassertemperaturen von 21,5°C im Jahresdurchschnitt
bilden die perfekte Grundlage
der subtropischen Meeresfauna. Abhängig
von den Wetterbedingungen ist das Tauchen und
Schnorcheln auf jeder Seite der Insel, ganzjährig möglich.
Durch den vulkanischen Ursprung kann man auch
in Küstennähe größere Tiefen erreichen. La Palma im
Speziellen steht nach Aussage der ansässigen Tauchschulen
für die Tiefe. Wie auf keiner anderen Insel
der Kanaren kann man hier direkt vom Ufer schnell
in große Tiefen abtauchen, ohne erst mit dem Boot
hinaus aufs Meer zu fahren – ein Paradies für Taucher,
mit „dropoffs“, Höhlen, Bögen und Unterwasser-Tunneln
und einer hohen Konzentration marinen
Lebens. Geeignet für Einsteiger und erfahrene Taucher.
Sie können auch direkt vor Ort einen Tauchkurs belegen
und das Element “Wasser” für sich entdecken.
Beliebte Tauchreviere sind Los Cancajos, Puerto Naos,
La Bajita oder El Fraile, hier ist der Meeresboden mit
weissem Sand bedeckt. Ein Highlight ist der Süden der
Insel mit dem Unterwasser-Gedenkfriedhof (40 Betonkreuze
stehen hier in etwa 16 Meter Tiefe auf den
Meeresgrund) für die Märtyrer von Tazacorte.

Las temperaturas del agua de 21,5ºC de media anual
crean una base perfecta para la fauna marina subtropical.
Dependiendo de las condiciones meteorológicas,
el buceo y snorkel es posible a lo largo de todo el año en
cualquier lugar de la isla. Debido al origen volcánico de
la isla, en zonas costeras se pueden alcanzar grandes profundiddades.
La Palma, según las escuelas de buceo, es
especial por sus profundidades. Como en ninguna otra isla
del archipiélago, aquí se bucea a grandes profundidades
que son alcanzadas desde la orilla, sin necesidad de barcos
que nos lleven mar adentro- un paraíso para los buceadores,
con „dropoffs“, cuevas, arcos y túneles submarinos
y una gran concentración de vida marina. Apropiado para
buceadores principiantes y experimentados. También
puede realizar un curso de buceo y descubrir por sí mismo
el elemento „agua“. Zonas de buceo apreciadas son Los
Cancajos, Puerto Naos, La Bajita o El Fraile, donde el fondo
marino está cubierto de arena blanca. Un punto culminante
es el sur de la isla con el cementerio conmemorativo submarino
(40 cruces de cemento se encuentran a 16 metros
de profundidad) para los mártires de Tazacorte.
Tauchen & Schnorcheln // Diving / snorkeling
Water temperatures which average 21.5 ° C
throughout the year create perfect conditions
for subtropical marine life. When weather
permits, diving and snorkeling is possible throughout
the year anywhere on the island. Due to the volcanic
origin of the island, even coastal areas can reach great
depths. According to the Diving schools La Palma is
special because of this. Unlike other islands of the
Archipelago, here it is possible to dive to great depths
which can be reached from the shore, without the need
of a boat. It is a paradise for divers, with „dropoffs“,
caves, arches and underwater tunnels and a high concentration
of marine life. It is suitable for beginners and
experienced divers alike. You can also take a diving
course and discover the watery element for yourself.
Popular diving areas are Los Cancajos, Puerto Naos, La
Bajita or El Fraile, where the seabed is covered with
white sand. A highlight is in the south of the Island, the
Commemorative Underwater Cemetery of the Martyrs of
Tazacorte, where 40 Crosses can be found 16 metres
underwater on the seabed.

Die topografischen Besonderheiten der
Küsten vor La Palma locken mit einigen
ganz passablen Spots vor allem
Surfprofies an. Die einheimischen Surfer
kennen die Gegebenheiten und man ist gut
beraten, sich an ihnen zu orientieren. Der
Playa de Nogales auf der Ostseite bietet
mit seinen Felsformationen und Klippen ein
besonderes Panorama. Gute Surfer ziehen
ideale Wellen vor allem im Winter hierher,
doch die stark abfallende Bodenformation
bringt starke Strömung mit sich und macht
den Strand recht gefährlich. Der Playa de los
Guirres / Playa Nueva nahe Puerto Naos ist
ebenfalls im Winter beliebt, wenn die Dünung
von Nordwest perfekte Bedingungen mit sich
bringt. Gelegentlich werden hier auch kanarische
Meisterschaften und Qualifikationen
ausgetragen. Auch am Zamora-Strand im
Süden der Insel erreichen die Wellen eine
beachtliche Größe und locken Surfer an.

La Palma atraen con varios lugares pasables
a los profesionales del surf. Los surferos nativos
conocen las circunstancias y es aconsejable
dejarse guiar por ellos. La Playa de Nogales, en
la parte este de la isla, ofrece una panorama especial
gracias a sus formaciones rocosas y acantilados.
Buenos surferos son atraídos, sobretodo en
invierno, por las olas ideales, aunque la formación
del suelo bruscamente inclinado trae consigo
fuertes corrientes y hace que la playa se convierta
en una zona peligrosa. La Playa de los Guirres/
Playa Nueva, cerca de Puerto Naos, también es
muy popular en invierno, cuando el oleaje del
noreste trae consigo perfectas condiciones. De vez
en cuando, se llevan a cabo campeonatos canarios
y calificaciones aquí. Asimismo, en la playa
de Zamora en el sur de la isla, las olas alcanzan
alturas considerables que atraen a los surferos.
The topographical conditions of the coast
of La Palma create several great places
for professional surfing. Local surfers understand
the conditions well and it is wise to
be guided by them. Playa de Nogales, in the
eastern part of the island, offers a spectacular
landscape with its rock formations and cliffs.
Expert surfers are attracted by the ideal waves,
especially in winter. However, the steeply inclined
ocean floor can cause strong currents
and make the Beach very dangerous. The
Playa de los Guirres / Playa Nueva, near Puerto
Naos, is also very popular in winter when the
waves from the Northeast bring perfect conditions
.Sometimes Canarian Championships
and competitions are held here. Another good
surfing beach where the waves can reach considerable
heights is playa de La Zamora in the
south of the Island.

Eine große Vielfalt an Fischen tummelt
sich fast das ganze Jahr über in den Gewässern
vor La Palma, darunter verschiedene
Arten von Thun-, Speer-, Pfauenlippund
Schwertfischen. Wer beim Fischen dieser
Meeresbewohner gerne mal dabei sein möchte,
kann sich an die erfahrenen Berufsfischer
von „La Palma Atlantic Expirience“ wenden,
die sich bestens mit den Gewohnheiten und
Bewegungen der Tiere, des Meeres und den
Wetterbedingungen auskennen. Die Fischereizonen
liegen ganz in der Nähe der Küste.

delante de La Palma, entre ellos atunes,
marlins, petos y peces espada. Quien
quiera estar durante la pesca de los mismos
puede dirigirse a los pescadores profesionales

Um La Palma´s Küste aktiv von der
Wasserseite zu entdecken, bietet
sich z.B. auch eine geführte Tour
mit dem Kanu/Kajak an. Auch hierbei
sollte man sich in die Hände der Profis
begeben, denn die mitunter starken Strömungen
können für Ortsunkundige schnell
gefährlich werden. Die Südspitze der Insel
sowie der Bereich nördlich von Tazacorte
sind zu meiden. Beliebt ist z.B. das Gebiet
um Puerto Naos.
Para descubrir la costa de La Palma
de manera activa desde el mar, se
ofrece una ruta guiada en piragua/
Kajak. También aquí se debe dirigir a profesionales,
pues fuertes corrientes se pueden
convertir en peligrosas para aquellos
que desconocen las zonas. La punta sur de
la isla y el lado norte de Tazacorte deben
evitarse. Popular es, por ejemplo, la zona
cercana a Puerto Naos.
To discover the coast of La Palma actively
from the sea, you can take a
guided canoe / kayak trip. In this case
it should be organized by professionals,
because strong currents can become dangerous
for those who don´t know the area.
The south point of the island and the northern
side of Tazacorte should be avoided. A
popular site, for example is the area near
Puerto Naos.

Während eines Whale Watching Tour
hat man die Möglichkeit, diesen einmal ganz
nah zu sein. Die speziell mit geräusch- und
vibrationsarmen Motoren ausgestatteten
INIA-Boote folgen den strengen Richtlinien
für sanftes Whale Watching und nähern sich
gesichteten Tieren auf vorsichtigste Weise.
Während ca. 2 Stunden erkunden Sie die
Wege der Wale und Delfine und erfahren
darüber hinaus einiges über das Leben der
Tiere. Die Sichtungsrate liegt bei ca. 90%.

Whale Watching se tiene la oportunidad de
admirarlos desde cerca. Los barcos INIA
poseen motores especiales bajos en sonido
y vibraciones, y siguen las pautas estrictas
para un avistamiento cuidadoso de los animales.
Durante aproximadamente 2 horas
investigan las rutas de las ballenas y delfines
y llegan a conocer mucho más acerca de
las vidas de estos animales. La probabilidad
de avistamiento es de un 90%.

„Verdammt dunkel!“ denke ich, als
ich gegen 23 Uhr nahe dem Roque de Los
Muchachos aus dem Auto steige. Hier, auf
etwa 2400 Höhenmetern, befindet sich eines
der größten Observatorien der nördlichen
Hemisphäre, das Observatorium Roque
de Los Muchachos (ORM). Mit derzeit 14
verschiedenen Teleskopen, Hightech und
Forschungsgeist versucht man, den Geheimnissen
des Universums ein Stück näher
zu kommen. Zu den Forschungsgebieten
gehören unter anderem die Suche nach
erdähnlichen Planeten sowie die Erforschung
von schwarzen Löchern und Supernova.
Ein unfassbarer Sternenhimmel offenbart
sich, an dem Millionen Sterne leuchten. Über
dem Horizont ist gerade die Milchstraße
aufgegangen. Jetzt verstehe ich, warum La
Palma auch „Star Island“ - die Sternen-Insel

“¡Maldita oscuridad!” pienso cuando
sobre las 23.00h, cerca del Roque de Los
Muchachos, me bajo del coche. Aquí, a
aproximadamente 2400 metros de altura,
se encuentra uno de los mayores observatorios
del hemisferio norte, el Observatorio
Roque de Los Muchachos (ORM). Con
actualmente 14 diferentes telescopios, alta
tecnología y espíritu de investigación, intentan
descifrar los secretos del universo.
Pertenece a los campos de investigación, la
búsqueda de planetas parecidos al nuestro,
así como la exploración de agujeros
negros y supernovas.
Un increíble cielo estrellado, en el que millones
de estrellas brillan, se desvela sobre
mí. Sobre el horizonte acaba de emerger
la Vía Láctea. Ahora comprendo por qué
La Palma también es llamada “Star Island”
-la isla de las estrellas.

Über die ganze Insel verteilt gibt es spezielle
Aussichtspunkte, von denen man
einen hervorragenden Blick auf den
Nachthimmel hat. Auf den dortigen Hinweistafeln
erfährt man die Blickrichtung
zum Polarstern und erhält Informationen
zu verschiedenen Sternenbildern und
wann diese von dem jeweiligen Punkt zu
sichten sind.
Besondere astronomische Ereignisse lassen
sich ebenso sehr gut von der Insel aus
beobachten. Zuletzt (Anfang 2015) konnte
man den Kometen Lovejoy schon mit
bloßem Auge von hieraus erkennen. Auch
wenn es sich bei Kometen letztendlich nur
um große kosmische Eisklumpen handelt,
bietet deren Anblick doch ein absolut faszinierendes
Schauspiel.
Mein Blick schweift über die Unendlichkeit.
Nur ein leises Surren der Teleskope ist hin
und wieder in der Stille zu hören. Je länger
ich in den Nachthimmel blicke, desto
kleiner und unbedeutender fühle ich mich.
Aber auch meine alltäglichen Sorgen und
Probleme scheinen für den Moment immer
kleiner zu werden. Beim nächsten

Aunque al fin y al cabo el cometa tan
solo es un gran grumo de hielo cósmico,
la escena es realmente fascinante.
Mi mirada vaga sobre el infinito. Solo
el zumbido silencioso de los telescopios
rompe el silencio de vez en cuando.
Cuanto más tiempo observo al cielo nocturno,
más pequeño y menos importante
me siento. Pero también mis preocupaciones
y problemas diarios parecen reducirse.
En el siguiente atasco intentaré
recordar este momento. “¡Qué desgracia
que no pueda tener estas vistas desde
mi casa!” pienso. Con la invención de la

Verkehrsstau werde ich versuchen, mich an
genau diesen Moment zu erinnern. „Schade,
dass ich diesen Ausblick nicht auch von
zu Hause aus haben kann“ denke ich bei
mir. Mit der Erfindung des elektrischen
Lichts hat die Menschheit zweifelsohne viel
gewonnen – aber ohne es zu merken vielleicht
auch etwas Wesentliches verloren.
Der Roque de Los Muchachos ist auch am
Tage ein lohnendes Ausflugsziel. Neben
einer Wanderung auf dem Kraterrand mit
beeindruckender Aussicht, gibt es auch
die Möglichkeit, das derzeit weltgrößte
Spiegelteleskop Gran Telescopio Canarias
(GTC) mit einem Spiegeldurchmesser von
10,4 Metern zu besichtigen. Die angebotenen
Führungen sind schnell ausgebucht,
weshalb eine frühzeitige Anmeldung empfehlenswert
ist.

Sein Interesse an der Astrofotografie
führte Carsten Schmitt schon vor einigen
Jahren zu seinem ersten Urlaub
auf La Palma. Geringe Lichtverschmutzung,
das große Observatorium und die Hoffnung,
mit dem Thema Astronomie als Amateur
hier Gleichgesinnte zu finden, machten die
Insel zum idealen Reiseziel. Seitdem ist er
regelmäßig auf der Insel um die Sterne zu
bewundern und die vielen anderen Naturwunder
zu bestaunen. Er formulierte es so:
“Auch in anderer Hinsicht passt La Palma
zu mir. Fernab vom Massentoursimus ist es
für mich ein perfekter Rückzugsort von Alltag
und Hektik. Hier finde ich Ruhe und Raum
für neue Ideen und Kreativität.” So entstand
kürzlich auch ein sehenswehrtes Video
Su interés por la astrofotografía llevó a
Carsten Schmitt desde hace ya varios años
a sus primeras vacaciones en La Palma. La
escasa contaminación lumínica, el gran observatorio
y la esperanza de encontrar con el tema de
la astrofotografía como afición, partidarios, hicieron
de la isla un destino ideal. Desde entonces
es huésped frecuente en La Palma para admirar
las estrellas y los otros tantos milagros de la naturaleza.
Él lo formula de la siguiente manera:
“También desde otro punto de vista La Palma
me pega. Lejos del turismo de masa, es un lugar
perfecto para huir de la rutina y el ajetreo. Aquí
encuentro tranquilidad y espacio para nuevas
ideas y creatividad.” Así, hace poco fue creado

und Technik führte den 34-jährigen zum
Studium der Technischen Informatik (Technical

von Stuttgart. In der Freizeit zieht es ihn zum
Wandern, Rad fahren oder Klettern viel eher
nach draussen. Die Reise in andere Länder
und Kulturen verbindet er mit dem Interesse
für Fotografie und hält so Impressionen und
Erinnerungen fest. Das Zitat: „Das Leben ist
wie ein leeres Buch dessen Seiten man füllen
muss.“ habe für ihn viel Wahrheit, sagt er.

Su temprano interés por la naturaleza, la ciencia y la
tecnología llevó a Carsten Schmitt, con sus 34 años,
a estudiar Informática Técnica (Technical Computer

cercana a Stuttgart. En su tiempo libre realiza senderismo,
monta en bicicleta o escala, siempre que
pueda en la naturaleza. Sus viajes a otros países y
culturas lo relaciona con su interés por la fotografía
y conserva así impresiones y recuerdos. La cita: “La
vida es como un libro vacío cuyas páginas las hay
que llenar” tiene para él mucha verdad, describe su
punto de vista. Cuando tenga la oportunidad, visite

For many years Carsten Schmitt has been
interested in Astrophotography, since his
first visit to La Palma. The low levels of light
pollution, the Great Observatory and the hope of
finding a good situation to practice his passion for
Astrophotography, together, made this Island his
ideal destination.
Since then he has made frequent visits to La
Palma to admire the stars and the many other
miracles of nature. He explains it like this; “La
Palma also captivates me for other reasons.
Far from mass tourism, it’s the perfect place to
escape the routine, hustle and bustle. Here you
can find tranquility and space for new ideas and
creativity.” He has recently made a film about
the spectacular nature of the Island by day and
night.
His long term interest in nature, science and
technology, led Carsten Schmitt at the age of
34, to study Technical Computer Science. Today
he works for an IT company near Stuttgart. In his
free time he goes Hiking, Cycling and Climbing,
always outdoors in the nature. His trips to other
countries and cultures are always related to his
interest in photography and this is how he records
his impressions and memories. The saying “Life is
like an empty book whose pages have to be filled”
holds a lot of truth for him and perfectly describes

Sie sitzt mir gegenüber, hinter ihr hängt ein
Bilderpaar in Rot und Blau. Auffällig viele
Bilder sind ohne Titel, die Künstlerin möchte
den Vergleich Titel – Bildinhalte vermeiden und
überlässt dem Betrachter, was er sehen und fühlen
möchte.
Carola Fiedlers Arbeiten folgen keinen Trends oder
Moden. Sie wollen sich als Auseinandersetzung mit
Emotionen und inneren Bildern verstanden wissen.
Seit nunmehr acht Jahren lebt und arbeitet sie auf
La Palma in Tijarafe. Die Abgeschiedenheit hier,
sagt sie, bringt mit sich, daß man sich mehr auf
sich selbst bezieht und sich weniger ablenken lässt.
Den Schwerpunkt ihres Schaffens hat sie in der
Applikation und Collage gesetzt, viele Arbeiten
sind Mischtechniken. Sie hat Textilkunst studiert,
heute spielt für sie die Textilie im herkömmlichen

Palma, en Tijarafe. El aislamiento aquí, dice ella, hace
que uno se centre más en sí y se distraiga menos.
El centro de su trabajo se encuentra en la aplicación y
el collage, muchas obras son técnicas mixtas. Estudió
arte textil, aunque hoy en día los textiles en el sentido

und Fügen schafft sie eigene Texturen, verwendet
verschiedene Materialien.
Vielfältigkeit ist ihr Anspruch, Zeichnungen und
Drucke gehören ebenso zu ihrem OEuvre, wie textile
Bücher. Durch einen Ausstellungsauftrag kam für sie
die Gestaltung von Schmuck hinzu. Seitdem setzt
sie sich mit Papier als Hauptgestaltungsmaterial
verschiedener Schmuckstücke auseinander. Es sind
Stücke, die auffallen und doch alltagstauglich und
tragbar sind.
Zur Zeit inspiriert sie die Kartographie, das kann
sich aber schnell wieder ändern, sagt sie, wegen
der Vielfalt eben. Auf der Insel waren ihre Arbeiten
zuletzt im Sala O`Dalí in Santa Cruz und Dem Tourismusbüro
in El Paso zu sehen, zusammen mit Ruth
Spreng unter dem Namen Grupo Arte Tela.

En la isla sus últimos trabajos se pudieron contemplar
en la Sala O‘Dalí en S/C y en la oficina de turismo en
El Paso, junto a Ruth Spreng bajo en nombre Grupo
Arte Tela.

breaking down and rejoining to create new
textures, using different materials. She loves
variety; drawings and prints also form a part of
her works, along with fabric books.
Through receiving an order at an exhibition, she
began making jewelry. Since then she has been
using paper as the main material in the creation
of distinct jewelry. The pieces are eye-catching
whilst still being suitable for everyday use.
Cartography is her present inspiration, although
she says that this may soon change ,for the sake
of variety.
In the Island, her latest works can be seen in the
Sala O‘Daly in S/C and Tourist Office El Paso,
together with Ruth Spreng under the name of
Grupo Arte Tela.

Sonne ist elementar für unser Leben,
doch entscheidend ist wie immer die
Dosis. Das Sonnenlicht aktiviert die
Produktion von Vitamin D und das
Glückshormon Serotonin. Beides hat
somit wesentlichen Einfluss auf die Gesundheit
und unser Wohlbefinden.
Doch gerade jene, die ihren Urlaub während
der Wintermonate im warmen Süden verbringen,
sollten die Intensität der UV-Strahlung
nicht unterschätzen. Da ein Zuviel an Sonne
den Körper auch massiv schädigen kann, ist
der richtige Umgang somit entscheidend. Ein
Sonnenbad im Sommer von 15 Minuten deckt
den Tagesbedarf an UV-Strahlung um das
Vitamin D zu bilden. Während der Mittagszeit
zwischen 12:00 und 15:00 Uhr sollte man
direkte Sonne gänzlich meiden. Gerade hier
auf La Palma bietet es sich an, eine geeignete
Kopfbedeckung zu tragen und somit auch die
Sonne, Balsam für Körper –

la dosis. La luz solar activa la
producción de vitamina D y la hormona
de la felicidad Serotonina.
Ambos tiene una gran influencia en nuestra
salud y bienestar.
Pero justo aquellos que pasan sus vacaciones
de navidad en las cálidas regiones del sur,
no deben subestimar la intensidad de la radiación
UV. Como el exceso de sol también
puede dañar el cuerpo, es decisivo el trato
correcto con el mismo. Un baño de luz solar
de 15 minutos al día basta para la formación
de vitamina D. Al mediodía, entre las 12.00
y 15:00h. se debe evitar la insolación directa.
Precisamente aquí en La Palma es recomendable
el uso de sombreros para proteger la

Sonnencreme:
1/4 Tasse Bienenwachs
1/2 Tasse Kokosöl
60 gr Himbeersamenöl
30 gr Sojaöl
30 gr Weizenkeimöl
2 Essl. Karottensamenöl
2 Essl. Aloe vera-Gel
4 Vitamin -E-Kapseln
15 Tropfen Lavendelöl
Zubereitung: Bienenwachs in einem Behälter
im Wasserbad schmelzen lassen. Dann Kokosöl
hinzugeben und alles flüssig werden lassen.
Die Masse in eine Küchenmaschine geben, alle
anderen Zutaten hinzufügen und gut mischen.
Danach die Masse in ein sauberes Einmachglas
füllen und an einem trockenen, dunklen und
kühlen Ort lagern.
Ingredientes para la protección

¼ taza de cera de abejas
½ taza de aceite de coco
60 gr. de aceite de semillas de frambuesa
30 gr. de aceite de soja
30 gr. de aceite de germen de trigo

15 gotas de aceite de lavanda
Preparación: dejar fundir la cera de abejas
en un recipiente. Luego añadir el aceite de coco
y dejar que todo se vuela líquido. Introducir la
masa en un robot de cocina, añadir los demás
ingredientes y revolver bien. Posteriormente,
verter la masa en un tarro limpio y conservar
en un lugar seco, fresco y oscuro.

Das Besucherzentrum der
„Caldera de Taburiente“
Oberhalb der Gemeinde El Paso befindet
sich das Besucherzentrum der Caldera de
Taburiente, das „Centro de Visitantes“.
Hier gibt es zum einen eine interessante
Dauerausstellung zur Caldera, dem Nationalpark
von La Palma, und zum anderen
erfährt man hier Näheres zur Flora und
Fauna auf der Insel. Zum letzteren Punkt
gibt es in den Aussenanlagen einen kleinen
botanischen Garten mit gekennzeichneten
endemischen Pflanzen.
Wer im Nationalpark zelten möchte, bekommt
im „Centro de Visitantes“ (oder
auf der Website s.u.) eine entsprechende
Genehmigung sowie Bücher und Karten

Die Guanchen hatten es schon als Grundnahrungsmittel
– Gofio. Universell
einzusetzen und lange haltbar blieb
das über viele Jahrhunderte so. Selbst mit einfachsten
Mitteln ließen sich nahrhafte Gerichte
herstellen.
Die Besonderheit dieses Mehles liegt in der Art
der Herstellung. Früher verwendete man ausschließlich
Gerste von Feldern der Insel . Über
offenem Feuer wurden in großen Schalen die
Körner vor dem Mahlen geröstet. Das Mahlen
geschah dann in Handmühlen und mit fortschreitender
Entwicklung in Wassermühlen.
Durch die Röstung bekam das Mehl seine
gelbe bis hellbraune Farbe und seinen Eigen-

Das Mehl der Kanaren La harina de las Canarias

geschmack. Es ist reich an Vitamin B und
Proteinen. Gofio kann sehr lange problemlos
gelagert werden und war darum bei den Seefahrern
auf den langen Reisen beliebt.
Die Ziegenhirten der Kanaren bereiteten im
„Zurron“ (einem Ziegenlederbeutel) durch
Zugabe von Ziegenmilch einen nahrhaften
Brei.
Nach dem gleichen Prinzip wird Gofio heute
auch aus Mais, Hirse und Weizen hergestellt.
Für die Zubereitung der unterschiedlichsten
Speisen eignet sich Gofio besonders deshalb,
weil es sowohl gebacken oder auch roh gegessen
werden kann. Man kann daraus Brot,
Suppen, süßen Teig mit eingekneteten Früchten
und sogar Bier herstellen.
Früher als „Brot der Armen“ bezeichnet, sind
Gerichte aus Gofio, zum Beispiel Crépes mit
süßem Palmensaft sehr beliebt.

Los cabreros de las islas preparaban una nutritiva
papilla en el zurrón (una bolsa de cuero de cabra)
añadiendo leche de cabra.
Hoy en día, se sigue usando el mismo proceso
para elaborar gofio de millo, de mijo y de trigo.
El gofio está indicado para la elaboración de los
más variados platos, sobre todo dado que se puede
consumir tanto horneado como sin cocinar. Con
él se pueden preparar panes, sopas, masas dulces
con frutas e incluso cerveza.
Conocido antiguamente como el “pan de los pobres”,
los platos elaborados con gofio, son muy
populares, por ejemplo crepes de gofio con miel
de palma.

SOS - Gatos de Tazacorte
...ist eine Gruppe von Tierschützern, die sich
im beliebten Badeort Puerto de Tazacorte
um die vielen Straßenkatzen kümmert. Hier
befinden sich etliche Fischrestaurants, die
mehr oder minder zwangsläufig auch eine
große Anzahl von Katzen anlocken, die sich
hier bisher unkontrolliert vermehren konnten.
Viele dieser Katzen werden durch die ehrenamtlichen
Helfer mit notwendiger tierärztlicher Hilfe
versorgt und soweit möglich kastriert, um die
Population einzugrenzen. Die Hilfsmaßnahmen
werden sehr durch Spenden residenter Tierfreunde
und Urlauber unterstützt und finanziert.
Bisher konnten dadurch in Zusammenarbeit mit
Tierärzten vor Ort mehrere Kastrations-Aktionen
durchgeführt werden. Die kastrierten Tiere werden
zur Erkennung mit einem kleinen Loch im
Ohr gekennzeichnet. Ziel ist es, die Katzenpopulation
in Tazacorte deutlich einzudämmen,
um unnötige Vergiftungsaktionen künftig zu
vermeiden.
Im Modegeschäft INDIGO in Puerto de Tazacorte
gibt es eine kleine Ecke mit sehr schönen handgearbeiteten
Artikeln von Ulla Adams, deren
Erlös zu 100 % für Kastrationen oder Medikamente
genutzt wird.

...es un grupo de activistas de los derechos de
animales, que cuidan a los tantos gatos callejeros
del conocido Puerto de Tazacorte. Aquí se
encuentran numerosos restaurantes que con sus
deliciosos pescados atraen una gran cantidad de
gatos que se pudieron reproducir hasta la fecha
sin más.
Muchos de estos gatos son atendidos por los voluntarios
con la asistencia veterinaria necesaria
y, dentro de lo posible, también son castrados
para controlar la población de los mismos. Las
acciones de socorro son apoyadas y financiadas
sobretodo gracias a donaciones de los amigos residentes
de los animales y turistas. Por ello, y con
la ayuda de veterinarios de la isla, se pudieron
realizar numerosas castraciones. Los animales
castrados son señalizados con un pequeño agujero
en la oreja . La meta es reducir la población de
gatos en Tazacorte para evitar futuros envenenamientos
intencionados.
En la tienda de moda INDIGO en el Puerto de
Tazacorte hay una pequeña esquina con bonitos
artículos artesanos de Ulla Adams, cuyos beneficios
son usados 100% para las castraciones o la
obtención de medicamentos.

care for the many stray cats of the well-known
Port of Tazacorte. Here you can find lots of
restaurants serving delicious fish, which also
attract many cats. These cats are breeding
continuously.
Many of these cats are cared for by volunteers
who obtain the necessary Veterinary care
and, where possible, neuter them to control
the population. These Rescue efforts are supported
and financed mainly by donations
from animal lovers, residents and tourists. In
this way, and in collaboration with local Veterinaries,
they have been able to make many
castrations. Neutered animals are marked
with a small hole in the ear. The goal is to
reduce the cat population in Tazacorte and
prevent them from having to be poisoned in
the future.
In the fashion store INDIGO in the Port of
Tazacorte there is a small corner displaying
beautiful artisan items by Ulla Adams, the
profits of which are used 100% for castration
and medications for the cats.
