FOOD DISTRIBUTION
v Please note that cutlery will not be available. Anyone needing cutlery will
have to make his own arrangements.
v It has been observed that a lot of food is wasted during these days. It is
generally a good practice to take only so much in a plate as you can eat
and thus waste nothing. Teach the same to your children.
v Special tents on ladies` & men`s sides have been pitched for eating &
drinking; please do not eat elsewhere.
v Please queue up to take your food before entering the Food Marquee.
v Once you finish your meals, please deposit your plates in the waste-bins
that are provided. We should all undertake to keep the environment clean.
EXHIBITION
The Majlis Ansarullah of Mauritius is
organizing an exhibition on the jamaat of
Mauritius ……….
Special arrangements have been made for
ladies as well to visit the exibition
12

CLEANLINESS
v The MFA has graciously put its football grounds and administrative
building at the Jama’at’s disposal. Therefore it is very important that all
members pay due care to keep the place very clean.
v Whosoever notices any litter should pick it up and deposit it in the litterbins
or boxes provided for that purpose. It is the duty of everyone to keep the
Jalsa site free of litter.
v There are simple etiquettes of cleanliness that need to be observed.
Remember to keep the toilets clean, after all cleanliness is next to
godliness.
v We must always keep in mind the cleanliness of the premises.
BOOKSTALL
The Ishaat department will operate a
bookstall in the Jalsa Gah where
various books and magazines will be on
sale.
Similar Arrangements exist on ladies’
side.
13

Purpose of Jalsa Salana
v This is not a festival but a Jama’at convention. Do not think that you
are participating in a festival and do not waste your time in personal
meetings or in buying and selling or showing off latest fashions.
v Greet each other with smiles. If you had any rancour, end them with
smiles in these three days. Secondly, spread the good words and urge
others to perform good deeds and tell them to desist from bad
practices. After all, this is the prime purpose of Jalsa Salana. Those
who come to attend Jalsa, must participate in it fully and instead of
roaming about aimlessly, they should derive maximum benefit from the
programme.
v Care should be taken that the ladies and the children sit and listen to
the Jalsa proceedings quietly and try to derive the maximum benefit
from them.
Blessings of Jalsa
Some people only come for one day instead of all three days and their
objective is to meet friends rather than gain the blessings of the occasion. If
the blessings of Jalsa are kept in mind, then attendance on all three days is
essential. Listen to the speeches and other programme in silence paying full
attention. Do not waste this precious time.
Etiquettes of the mosque
Remember the etiquette and sanctity of the place in and around the mosque.
During the jalsa, the marquees serve as mosques. Therefore, remember to
observe the sanctity of the mosque in these.
