DIGITAL CHRISTIE MANUFACTURING
Looking into the
Digital Cinema
Jim Slater visits the Christie factory in Ontario
FACTORY, RESEARCH CENTRE, OFFICES, DISTRIBUTION DEPOT
I hadn’t really known what to expect when I arrived at the Christie factory, which is in Kitchener, Ontario, about an hour to
the south-west of Toronto airport. I found a long, low factory and office building, screened from the highway by trees, and
it didn’t take long for Bob Rushby, Christie’s Chief Technology Officer, VP R&D to begin to fill me in with answers to all the
questions that I was ready to ask - why Kitchener? Do all Christie projectors worldwide come from here?, and dozens more.
