CLARIFICATION BETWEEN PCMI AND SEVERN TRENT
Some homeowners are confusing the water company with the
management company. Planned Community Management Inc (PCMI)
became a part of Severn Trent in 2002 and is a branch of Severn Trent.
Any correspondence from PCMI will have the Severn Trent logo, so please
don’t disregard mail received from them. Please send any correspondence
to PCMI at 2002 W Grand Parkway N #100, Katy, TX 77449. Michael Quast

WCA TRASH AND RECYCLE PICKUP GUIDELINES
Pickup days are Monday and Thursday (Recycle day)
Holidays (no garbage pickup): New Year’s Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• Please have trash out at curb by 7 AM each pick up day and put the
containers back in their storage space (out of sight from the street) by
7 PM the day of trash pickup. This will help to keep our neighborhood
looking clean.
• Trash must be either in containers or bags not exceeding 40 gallons or
weighing over 40 pounds.
• Trees, shrubs, brush trimmings and fencing must be bundled in lengths
no greater than 4 feet with no branch diameter exceeding 3 inches. This
bundling is required to allow for quick pick up and avoids damaging the
equipment in the crushing process.
• Appliances, furniture, carpet (up to 1 room, rolled up four feet wide &
less than 50 pounds), cardboard boxes must be flattened.
• By Federal Law, refrigerators and freezers or any other items containing
Freon must be drained of Freon and have an accompanying bill to
validate such service was performed.
Items excluded from normal collection: dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, tires,
batteries, motor oil, cooking oil, waste generated by private contractor or
any materials or items deemed hazardous materials. WCA will leave a tag
with explanation for non-collected items.
RECYCLE PROGRAM:
• Please only use the recycle bins for recyclable materials, not as an extra
trash container.
• Please remove caps, liquids and food products from inside the
containers.
PAPER:
• Loose paper dry and clean (not in plastic bags); newspapers, magazines,

• Inoperable vehicle’s (flat tires), covered vehicles, expired registration/
inspection stickers are not permitted to be seen from the street, please
park in garage.
• Maintain home which includes painting, repairing any wood rot,
replace/repair damaged front doors and garage doors, clean gutters and
pressure wash siding to remove mildew.
• Keep driveways and sidewalks free of weeds and pressure wash.
• Trim trees at least 8’ from sidewalk and street and should not be
touching house, shrubs should be kept trimmed.
• Store all trash bins out of sight from street.
• Yards must have grass growing and free of weeds. Yards must be mowed
and edged regularly.
PARKING
Our streets are so narrow that when vehicles are parked on both sides
of street, it makes it difficult for homeowners to get in and out of their
driveway or drive down street. Please park your vehicles in drive way and
ask guests to park as close to curb as possible on one side of street when
visiting. By having guests and homeowners park on one side, this allows
emergency vehicles to maneuver down the street and avoid delays in
response time to an emergency. Reminder, vehicles parked on street
must be parked in the direction of traffic and you may not park within 15’
of a fire hydrant. Failure to abide by these rules may result in a parking
ticket. Also when picking up your children at the elementary school
please be courteous and don’t block streets or homeowner’s driveways
and adhere to the street signs.

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
In an effort to protect the homeowner’s rights and property values, it
is required that any homeowner considering any change or addition
to their home OR property which would affect the exterior appearance
MUST submit their request in writing along with diagrams, lot survey and
color scheme to Architectural Review Committee PRIOR to initiating any
change or addition. Any changes that have not been approved by the
ARC, the Association has the right to ask the homeowner to remove the
improvement from the property. ACC applications can be found on our
private FB page under our File tab, online at www.Krenekprinting.com
under our newsletter, Townsquare or contact management company
and they will email you one.
CRIMEWATCH
Please remember not to leave valuables in your vehicles and
keep all doors locked. Garages left open are like a candy store to a
criminal. At night, leave a light on to help deter criminals from trying
to break in. Let’s be watchful for our families and neighbors and if
you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to contact the Sheriff’s
department at 713-221-6000 for non-emergency calls or 911 for
emergencies.
VACATION WATCH
Residents of Constable Precinct 3 contract subdivisions can have their
homes checked while they are away on vacation. Please contact the
Constable’s office at 281-427-4791 or 713-453-6959. You will need to
provide the following information:
• Name
• Address
• Phone Number
• Cell Phone Number
• Emergency number for the vacation period
• Starting date and returning date
• A description of any cars left on the premises and their location
• The type and location of any animals left on the premises
• Where lights have been left on and if they are on a timer
• Any persons authorized to be on the property and their phone number
and whether or not they have a key
• If the house is monitored by a security system and the name and
number of the company if so

SOUTH TRANSPORTATION CENTER
EXPECTED TO BE READY TO ROLL IN 2017
The groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the South
Transportation Center occurred on January 6, 2016. Despite the
challenges of an unusually wet year and with the help from Katy ISD
Project Manager Scott Walker, progress has been steady. The tentative
Opening date is January 2017. The South Transportation Satellite Center
opened its doors in January of 2011 with 34 routes. Today, the center
has 95 routes and 119 employees. In January, the South Transportation
Center will have the capacity for up to 250 buses. ​
STUDENT ACTIVITY FACILITY:
SECOND STADIUM ON TRACK FOR 2017-2018
Construction of the Student Activity Facility: Second Stadium continues.
This stadium, along with neighboring Jack Rhodes Stadium, will form
the Katy ISD Student Activity Facilities Complex. The Complex will create
a unique experience for fans, students, parents and the community as
sporting and fine arts events can be played concurrently thanks to the
infrastructure and road construction the will allow spectators and game
participants easy access in and out of the Complex.
BACKPACK BUDDY PROGRAM FEEDS STUDENTS
Katy ISD has partnered with the Houston Food Bank Backpack Buddy
Program and Members Choice Credit Union to fill backpacks with food and
distribute to families in need. This program works to fill the gap for chronically
hungry children by providing nutritious food for students to take home over
the weekend. On October 7, 2016 volunteers at Schmalz Elementary stuffed
more than 35 backpacks to feed nearly 35 families last weekend. So far
this year, the Backpack Buddy Program has distributed 362,258 backpacks
to 603 schools across Southeast Texas. Thanks to their partnership with
various school districts the Houston Food Bank serves approximately 12,500
students a week. Katy ISD joined this partnership when administrators
learned some of the District’s children were going home to little or no food
during the weekends and holidays. The generic black backpacks, which are
discreet and do not reveal their content, consist of six meals for each child.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
MRHS Maverick Belles Dance Showcase will be on Thursday, December
1 st at 7 PM in the MRHS Performing Arts Center (PAC), 21000 Franz Rd.,

office the evening of the event.
MRHS Orchestra Winter Concert and Silent Auction will be held on
Tuesday, December 6 th in the MRHS PAC. Silent Auction will begin at 6
PM with the concerts beginning at 7 PM. This concert is free to the public.
MRHS JaZZ’d to sing at the “Teacher of the Year” Brick Unveiling, 6 PM at
Katy Heritage Park on Avenue D.
MRHS Band will be having their Winter Concert on Wednesday,
December 7 th at 7 PM in the MRHS PAC. All are invited for an evening of
beautiful music. This is a free concert.
MRHS Choir invites you to their Winter Concert on Thursday, December
8 th at 7 PM in the MRHS PAC. This free concert, performed by MRHS Choir
students, will be an evening of entertaining music.
MRHS Theatre will host their annual 5K Family Fun Run/Walk Fundraiser
on Sunday, December 11 th at the Mason Creek Hike and Bike Trail, Katy
Hockley Cut Off entrance. Prizes awarded to the top 3 in each category:
Men 12 & up, Women 12 & up, Children 11 & under and Walkers (all ages).
Registration is $15. Register by December 2 nd to receive a race T-Shirt.

A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS
The Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fulshear
presents A Holly Jolly Christmas on Saturday, December 3, 2016
in Downtown Fulshear from 5:30 PM to 9 PM. This year’s Holly Jolly
Christmas will include Ice Skating, Santa, Live Music, The Frozen
Sisters, a Live Nativity, along with a Children’s area, Vendor Booths and
a Walking Parade. The event will commence promptly at 5:30 PM with
announcements and a walking parade. Parade entry is free. Vendors and
stores will be set up with food, crafts, clothing and jewelry so you can
get some holiday shopping done! Santa will arrive during the parade and
will visit the children’s area, which will also include a LIVE Nativity Scene
and an Ice skating rink! Live music during the event by Thrive church and
White Stone band. The White Stone Band is comprised of nine Katy and
Fort Bend area worship music veterans with a passion for Funk, Jazz and
R&B. They come together to honor the music of Chicago, Earth Wind &
Fire, Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Steve Wonder and others. Temporary
road closures for the event: All lanes of FM 359 will be closed between
Front St. and Second St. between 11 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016
and 1 AM on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Front St. will be closed between
Wilson St. and Harris St. for the duration of the event. Detour routes and

JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM
EXPERIENCE THE NIGHT HOPE WAS BORN
Current - A Christian Church (currentchristian.org) is hosting the
15 th annual Journey to Bethlehem - an outdoor walk-through drama
portraying the birth of Christ. The event will be held Thursday through
Sunday, December 8 th -11 th at Current - A Christian Church, located at

at the simple manger where Christmas began.

Parade presented by the City of Kemah will be at Kemah Boardwalk!

to Galveston Bay. Grab the whole family to watch the hundreds of

NATURE PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN
SATURDAYS IN NATURE
This program is held on the second Saturday of each month at the
Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary. Arrive anytime between 9 and 11:30
AM. The program ends at 12 noon. A guided nature walk will begin at
10 AM. No reservations required. Donations are encouraged. This is
a “whole family” program; parents or other adult guardians should
participate with their children. Upcoming programs include November:

THE TITMOUSE CLUB
The Titmouse Club is a nature program for children ages 2 ½ to 5
sponsored by the Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program is
offered every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, 10 to 11 AM, from
mid-September until mid-May at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary,
440 Wilchester Boulevard. Each week features a different nature theme
and may include nature talks, stories, hands-on activities and walks in

look under Audubon Docents. The cost is $5 per child per session or a
5-session card can be purchased for $20. The child must be accompanied

AFTER SCHOOL NATURE EXPLORERS CLUB
Nature Explorers Club is designed for school-age children (ages 6-10,
K-5 th ) who are interested in investigating the natural world. Each month
we will explore a different ecology topic, focusing on our own native
plants and animals. We will make a craft to take home, go on a nature
hike, dip-net for fish and tadpoles in the ponds and get to know the plants
and animals of the Bayou City! Fee/reservations are required. Reserve

OWL PROWLS
Houston Audubon Docent Guild sponsors 4 owl prowls for the 2016-17
season. Owl prowls begin with a lively program on owls including an
opportunity to meet live, rehabilitated owls followed by a walk in the
woods in search of wild owls. For more information, to reserve and pay
online go to www.houstonaudubon.org.
Owl Prowl dates are December 9, 2016, January 13, 2017 and February
10, 2017. Owl Prowls start at 7 PM, end at 9 PM and begin in the log cabin
at the Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary. The fee is $12 for adults and $8 for
children (ages 6-17). All prowlers must be at least 6 years of age and there
must be at least one adult present for each two children.
Dress for walking in the woods and the weather. Please park in the
Memorial Drive United Methodist Church west parking lot at 12955
Memorial Drive or the Sanctuary’s small lot at 440 Wilchester. Preregistration
is required and there is a maximum number of participants
for each prowl.
