Effective coordination with timely information sharing with implementing partner line ministries, promote<br />
evidence based actions<br />
In convergence enhance inter-sectoral coordination to synergize response and address needs<br />
Ensure gender and protection mainstreaming and inclusive policies are addressed while designing WASH<br />
projects. This includes age, disability, and vulnerability.<br />
This strategic guideline aims to provide WASH partners with a principled & adaptive operational approach<br />
to maximize reach through direct and indirect emergency implementation techniques<br />
The working group supporting the provision of water, sanitation and health care (WASH), in conjunction<br />
with the strategic response by the <strong>Humanitarian</strong> Country Team (HCT), to provide information on a joint<br />
basis, along with reporting and monitoring and evaluating of responses and identification of needs using<br />
specific indicators for continuous assessment of risks and track targeted responses.<br />
1. Maintain drinking and domestic water supply provision through maintaining production, treatment &distribution<br />
to all communities through regular and emergency measures.<br />
2. Ensure adequate storage and mobile provision of drinking water is provided where needed (Mobile treatment<br />
units, storage tanks, water tankering and distribution of House hold water treatment options eg:, filters, aqua<br />
tabs, satches …)<br />
3. Protection of surface and ground water resources, (lakes, Dams, Streams and shallow aquifers) through<br />
improved management & maintenance of sanitation systems, both liquid & solid form HHs, Industries, hospitals<br />
and agricultural areas<br />
4. Distribution of hygiene kits to all families in need with focus on adolescent girls and women in general,<br />
complemented by hygiene promotion<br />
5. Improve WASH facilities in vital institutions (schools, Hospitals, shelters and health centers) including<br />
management of liquid and solid waste<br />
6. Implement, where needed, alternative and adaptive options of providing WASH services<br />
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2: Increase the provision of appropriate life-saving<br />
emergency and relief supplies for affected people in syria, especially in the sectors of<br />
food and agriculture, water, sanitation, health, nutrition, shelter, education and<br />
essential non-food items.<br />
