SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully before use
• WARNING! Warnings and instructions in these operating instructions do not cover all of the
possible situations that may arise. The user must use common sense and caution.
• Save these instructions.
Work area
• Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents
and injuries.
• Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids,
gases or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
• Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance when using power tools. You can easily lose
control of the equipment if you are distracted. Keep other people at a safe distance from the work
area.
• Do not use the product in confined areas. Risk of injury.
Personal safety
• Pay attention to what you are doing. Remember to use all necessary safety precautions and
common sense when working with the product. Never use a chainsaw if you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention when using a power tool can
result in serious personal injury.
• Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in
moving parts.
• Use safety equipment. Wear approved safety glasses or a visor. Wear a dust mask if the work
generates dust. Make sure that everyone in the vicinity of the work area wears dust masks. Wear
non-slip footwear, a safety helmet, gloves, ear protection and a dust extraction system if
necessary.
• Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
Use and care
• Do not overload the product. It does the job better and more safely when used at the rate for which
it was designed. Always use the correct tool for the job.
• Put the product away when not in use. Store the product in a dry place out of the reach of children.
Check that the product is in good condition before each use.
• Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer for the specific model. Accessories that
are suitable for one type of product may pose a risk of personal injury if used with another product.
• Make sure that the safety cross bar (6) is firmly secured before each use. The safety cross bar
holds the log securely to the sawhorse.
