Setting the Traverse<br />
How it works cont..<br />
• Before connecting the wire from the copper coil to<br />
the coil former, the width of the traverse should be<br />
adjusted.<br />
• Slacken off the knobs ‘P’ on the trip rod. Then turn<br />
the knob ‘W’ in a clockwise direction, disengaging<br />
the carriage from the lead screw, allowing it to be<br />
moved to the right or left.<br />
• Return the knob ‘W’ to its previous position. For fine<br />
adjustment of the wire feed carriage turn the hand<br />
knob ‘D’ on the left of the headstock and then<br />
adjust the carriage using knob ‘O’.<br />
• To set the left hand trip adjuster, move it up to the<br />
wire feed carriage and tighten. Move the carriage to<br />
the right hand end of the coil and repeat the<br />
procedure. Now run the machine making any other<br />
fine adjustments as required.<br />
• To change the winding direction from right to left,<br />
move the lever ‘N’ to the right<br />
