Visitors will be overwhelmed by the marvellous ancient English garden
at “Keescher Park”, which has been returned to its former majestic state.
At the park’s entrance, the imposing “Adlertor”, Saxony’s largest Neobaroque
gate, will take your breath away.
Restaurants offer a charming locale where you can dine in the peaceful
atmosphere of the park.
The “agra-Park”, one of the fi nest and most well known parks in the
region, is characterized by its classical English styled garden with
picturesque meadows and ponds, temples, statues, entwined amphora,
and more than 250 kinds of trees and bushes. Many attractions line the
way along the park’s paths: a farmer’s garden, an ecological school, a koi
fi sh pond, and a Japanese garden center. The most impressive building in
the park, visible from the main entrance of Markkleeberg, is the “Weißes
Haus.” This magnifi cent mansion not only hosts concerts, but also
serves as a romantic setting for wedding ceremonies.
Nestled between fl ood plain forest and meadows, historic castles and
newly built lakes, the parks are hidden natural refuges in a lively town.
