The European Language Certificate<br />
for Business Purposes (B2)<br />
This is a two semester intensive language course leading<br />
up to the European Language Certificate for Business<br />
Purposes. TELC is a Europe-wide standardized exam and<br />
recognized in commerce and industry.<br />
The examination consists of five parts: Reading, Writing,<br />
Use of English (Grammar and Vocabulary), Listening and<br />
Speaking. All five skills will be trained in a business context<br />
in the course session.Participants should have learned<br />
English for at least six years (Abitur advisable). If you are<br />
unsure about your qualifications, please contact the „<strong>Sprachen</strong>beratung“<br />
or phone the course teacher. New members<br />
are highly welcome!<br />

In this course we shall be “going ahead”. Participants should<br />
have learnt English for at least six years (Mittlere Reife and/<br />
or several semesters at the <strong>VHS</strong> up to Ober-/Aufbaustufe<br />
level). Our aim is to improve fluency in the language by<br />
expanding knowledge of vocabulary, revising grammatical<br />
structures, improving our listening comprehension skills,<br />
discussing interesting topics. Apart from the book we shall<br />
use a lot of additional material such as newspaper articles<br />
and short literary texts to stimulate lively discussions on various<br />
fields of interest.<br />
