Vancouver im Winter 2010: Eine neue olympische Disziplin feiert Premiere!
Jeweils vier Athleten auf Ski katapultieren sich aus dem Startblock
und rasen in einem Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen zu Tal. Die
Überholmanöver auf der Strecke sind spannend und oft waghalsig,
die Dynamik und Dramatik einzigartig. Die Olympiagemeinde ist begeistert.
Von Ski Cross. Und obwohl noch in den Kinderschuhen, zieht
der jüngste Neuzugang bei den Olympischen Spielen Zuschauer und
Athleten gleichermaßen in seinen Bann.
Es geht um den Kampf „Mann gegen Mann“ oder „Frau gegen Frau“.
Die beiden schnellsten von vier kommen eine Runde weiter, bis in
der „Final Round“ nur noch vier Fahrer übrig sind, um den endgültigen
Sieg unter sich auszufahren. Die Rennen sind geprägt von harten
Kämpfen und hoher Agilität. Kein Sport für Weicheier – auch nicht
bei den Zuschauern! Der rasante Kurs ist gespickt mit Sprüngen, Wellen
und Steilkurven, die von den Fahrern extreme Konzentration und
höchstes fahrerisches Können fordern.
Seit der Saison 2007/08 rüstet die Firma Ziener aus dem oberbayerischen
Oberammergau die Deutsche Ski Cross Nationalmannschaft
mit hochfunktioneller Skibekleidung aus.
Heli Herdt, sportlicher Leiter der Deutschen Skicross Nationalmannschaft
freut sich über die gute Zusammenarbeit mit dem Funktionsspezialisten

Vancouver, winter 2010: A new Olympic discipline celebrates its première!
Four athletes at a time catapult out of the starting blocks and
tear down into the valley in a head-to-head race. Passing manoeuvres
on the stretch are exciting and often daring, the dynamics and dramatics
are one-of-a-kind. The Olympic community is thrilled. By Ski
Cross of course. And although it is still in its infancy, the latest arrival
at the Olympic Games draws spectators and athletes alike under its
spell.
The principle is quite simple. It is all about a battle - "man against
man" or "woman against woman". The two fastest of the four move
ahead a round until the final round when only four skiers are left to
ski out the final victory. The races are marked by tough battles and
high agility. It is not a sport for wimps - which also includes the
spectators! The fast-paced course is laced with jumps, mounds and
sharp curves, which demand extreme concentration and the highest
possible skiing skill.
Ziener, from Oberammergau in Upper Bavaria, has equipped the German
Ski Cross National Team with highly functional ski clothing
since the 2007/08 season.
Heli Herdt, athletic director of the German Ski Cross National Team
is looking forward to working together well with Ziener: "In an event,
