Dr. Marc André Micha (Chief Operating Officer, linkes Bild) und Tjardo Siemens (Chief Financial Officer)
sind seit 2008 im Vorstand der APCOA AG // Dr Marc André Micha (Chief Operating Officer, on the left)
and Tjardo Siemens (Chief Financial Officer) have been members of the Executive Board of APCOA AG
since 2008
Interview: Parken der Zukunft
„Das Parken mit zusätzlichen
Produkten kombinieren“
Welche Herausforderungen sehen Sie für die APCOA-Gruppe ?
Tjardo Siemens: Die Branche konsolidiert sich. Mittelfristig
so weiter. Mit der Beschilderung
wurde der APCOA-Slogan „The World
of Parking“ aufgegriffen. Der Parkbereich
„Athen“ ist mit der Akropolis gekennzeichnet
und der Bereich „Berlin“
mit dem Brandenburger Tor.
Interview: Parking of the future
“Combining parking with additional products”
What challenges do you anticipate for the APCOA Group?
Tjardo Siemens: The industry is undergoing consolidation. In
the medium-term there may be only two or three other major
providers apart from APCOA. Consequently, competition for
parking customers is going to increase.
How will APCOA react to this trend?
Dr Marc André Micha: With a completely new image towards
our customers. We will not only reinvent car park management
but will also combine parking with additional products. Just
imagine someone parking in an APCOA car park, then using his
car park ticket as an admission ticket to a football match, as a
ticket for the bus ride from the Park&Ride or as a discount card
in the shopping centre.
Tjardo Siemens: In addition, we are also going to be relying
more on the internet as a communication and sales platform.
Nowadays a considerable number of journeys are booked
online, which offers great potential for parking. The impending
paradigm shift in the automotive industry will also generate
huge opportunities, as our customers will be able to recharge
their electric cars or change their batteries in the car park itself.
How will your landlords profit from these developments?
Dr Marc André Micha: Through higher profits. Today the
APCOA brand represents market-leading pricing expertise and
maximum operational efficiency. These planned innovations
will provide our landlords with access to a greater number of
parking customers and a higher proportion of the entire
parking-related value added chain.
Functionality takes priority
An eye-catching cyan-blue direction system will help visitors
to APCOA car parks to find their way around in future. The
designers paid particular attention to ensuring that drivers can
find their cars as easily as possible on returning to the car
park. Stylised city images identify the different parking areas
and help the customer to find his way around. Athens represents
parking area A, Berlin area B, Cordoba area C and so on.
The APCOA slogan “The world of parking” was taken up by
these images. The “Athens” parking area is identified by the
Acropolis and the “Berlin” area by the Brandenburg Gate.
