Cleaning
A distinction is to be made between
basic cleaning and care or routine cleaning.
Basic cleaning or initial cleaning
after completing the tiling work
falls within the tiler's scope of services
and serves to remove building dirt
and any cement film.
The appropriate care and maintenance
cleaning measures remove soiling
resulting from use and help to maintain
the attractive appearance and
value of porcelain stoneware on a
lasting basis. Important: Be sure to
observe the manufacturers' instructions
when using cleaning agents!

any liability for damage caused by
acidic or caustic cleaning agents.
Tipps
Cleaning agents containing hydrofluoric
acid should never be used.
Strongly acidic agents will damage the
tile surface, while strongly alkaline
agents will attack the grout. Regular
sweeping, vacuuming or wiping with
a damp cloth, using standard all-purpose
cleaners, is generally sufficient
for the purposes of routine cleaning.
Cleaning should always be carried out
in two steps:
Step 1: Use an appropriate implement
(scrubber, microfibre cloth, etc.) to
dissolve the dirt with an adequate
quantity of cleaning liquid (water +
cleaning agent in accordance with
dosage specified by manufacturer)
Step 2: Soak up the dirt and the dirty
water (with cleaning cloth, microfibre
cloth, etc.). Residual wet should
always be soaked up, to prevent the
dissolved dirt from drying on the tile
or becoming deposited in the joints.
Possible mistakes
In the long term, the use of brushes or
pads with abrasive grain additive will
have an abrasive effect. Cleaning
agents with care ingredients, such as
oils, waxes and surfactants, are unsuitable
for porcelain stoneware. They
form a greasy film, impair non-slip
safety and alter the surface appearance.
Such a greasy film can be removed
by carrying out the basic cleaning
process.
When underfloor heating is installed,
it is particularly important to ensure
that the dissolved dirt is soaked up
before it has an opportunity to dry
out again.
