A1 and A2 in cases of non-smallcell
lung cancer and associated tumor-free lung
tissues.

Objektive: To investigate the balance of surfactant-apoprotein A1 and A2
(SP-A1 & SP-A2) at trancriptional level in tumor and tumor-free lung-tissues
of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer.
Design: Laboratory study
Material: Nonfixed snap-frozen tumor and tumor-free sections of lungs, excised
from 29 patients with adenocarcinomas of the lung and 11 patients
with squamous cell carcinomas (control group).
Method: RT-PCR using a SP-A1/SP-A2 consensus sequence, followed by
enzymatic restriction. As significance-test Wilcoxon-matched-pair-test was
used.
Main outcome measures: The expression of SP-A1- and SP-A2- mRNA
in examinated tissues, normalisation of these results and calculation of the
ratio SP-A1/SP-A2 as measurement which was employed afterwards. Only
