Jacques loussier, Die Prinzen, amarcord, calmus und richard
galliano sind nur einige der ausnahmekünstler, die sie vier tage bei
freiem eintritt auf dem leipziger Markt mit ihren musikalischen reflexionen
auf Bach erwarten.
Die Konzerthöhepunkte unseres open-air Festes stehen im Zeichen
neuer musikalischer Begegnungen: schüler der Musikschule »Johann
sebastian Bach« leipzig und des conservatorio di Musica »giovan
Battista Martini« spielen anlässlich der 50-jährigen städtepartnerschaft
leipzig-Bologna ein gemeinsames akademiekonzert, Die
Prinzen und amarcord feiern ihren ersten großen gemeinsamen
auftritt – ein besonderes ehemaligentreffen von ex-thomanern zum
800-jährigen Bestehen des chores, der große altmeister des Jazz
Jacques loussier trifft mit »Play Bach« auf das erfolgreiche Big-Band-
Projekt »Bach goes to town« und richard galliano (akkordeon) spielt
mit dem tangaria Quartet zum tango auf.
Zahlreiche weitere Künstlerinnen und Künstler, darunter beispielsweise
die Preisträger des Jugend-cross-over-Wettbewerbes Bachspiele
aus dem Jahr 2011, sorgen für ein vielseitiges, erstklassiges, aufregendes
und überraschendes Bach on air 2012.

concerts during four days on leipzig’s Market square with their musical
reflections on Bach.
the common denominator between the highlights of our open-air
festival is that they all mark first-time encounters between musicians:
pupils from the Johann sebastian Bach Music school in leipzig and the
giovan Battista Martini conservatorio di Musica will be giving a joint
concert in honour of the 50th anniversary of the twinning of leipzig
and Bologna; Die Prinzen and amarcord will be celebrating a special
get-together by former st. thomas’ choristers in their first-ever joint
performance on the occasion of the choir’s 800th anniversary; the
great old master of jazz Jacques loussier will be joining the successful
big band project »Bach goes to town« in »Play Bach«, while richard
galliano (accordion) will be inviting you to tango with the tangaria
Quartet.
Numerous other artists will also be present, including the prize winners
of the Bachspiele 2011 crossover competition for young people,
guaranteeing a richly diverse, top-quality Bach on air 2012, full of
thrills and surprises.
