Eine Herausforderung für die Mathematik(didaktik)?

Today: Over the years a number of colleagues have helped me with the
compilation, editing, and producting the contents of the IMUCC. For some
years now the section on meetings, which is the most useful and most highly
regarded section, is compiled, edited, and produced by Dr David Easdown
at the Univerity of Sydney.
We, Dr Easdown and I, and all the others who have helped over the
years, freely give our time and effort. The printing and distribution is done
in the School of Mathematical Sciences of the Australian National University
(ANU), while the address labels were for a long time produced in the
Division of Mathematics and Statistics on the Commonwealth Scientific and
Industrial Research Organization [now the Division of Mathematics and Information
Sciences (CMIS)]: these two (I am an Emeritus Professor in the
one, an Honory Research Fellow in the other) thus provide a hidden subsidy;
and it is substantial. However, I feel that it is worth-while, because of the
goodwill it has created in the past and is still creating.

right now, is IMUCC 197 [August 1998]; thus the rate of publication has
been about 4 issues per year.
Personal postscript: For a long time now I have hoped, in vain, that a volunteer
would come forward to take over from me. I put about 400 hours of
work on the IMUCC a year, and I carry the expense of various source materials,
such as biographical dictionaries, subscription to societies [outside my
direct mathematical interests] that produce newsletters, the upkeep of my
personal computers, and the cost of address labels.
