Why study Sports Performance at Bath?<br />
The increasing need for investment in sport and in athlete and<br />
coach development has been discussed at length in the media<br />
with the UK at the forefront of hosting international sporting<br />
events. Bath has a well-established tradition of innovation in<br />
athlete and coach education, achieved through combining<br />
coaching, athletic performance and academic endeavours.<br />
The University has invested extensively over the last few years<br />
to create a range of sports and recreation facilities on campus.<br />
A Sports Training Village complex, built with financial help from<br />
the National Lottery and National Governing Bodies for sport,<br />
offers superb facilities. Recognised as the English Institute<br />
of Sport for the South West, part of a National Network, the<br />
University of Bath now constitutes the premier sports training<br />
facility in the United Kingdom.<br />
These sports facilities and services are among the best in the<br />
world, in keeping with the University of Bath’s international<br />
reputation as an academic institute, noted for its research,<br />
teaching and applied learning.<br />
There are two Sports Performance degrees on offer at our<br />
Bath campus.<br />
The 2 year Foundation Degree enables students to integrate<br />
sports training and academic study. Course units allow students<br />
to develop skills and knowledge in several areas relevant to<br />
training and competition, from their own physical conditioning to<br />
