• Tables 2 and 3:
A retransplant is when an unplanned transplant is performed due to relapse, rejection
of the first transplant or for any other secondary malignancy. Any patients receiving a retransplant
in 2003, where the first transplant was performed before 2003, should be entered
only in table 2, if allogeneic or table 3, if autologous. If by chance the first transplant
was also in 2003, enter the first transplant in table 1 and the retransplant in either
table 2 (allo) or table 3 (auto).
• Tables 1, 2, and 3:
Additional transplants: additional transplants of patients treated with pre-planned
double, triple, multiple graft programme (planned sequential protocol), sequential
chemotherapy with cell support, mixed double auto/mini allo transplant procedures
should be entered as a total number in either table 2, if allogeneic or table 3, if
autologous, under ‘additional..…transplants’. Do not include the first transplant or cycle
in this total number, as these should be entered in table 1, when performed in the
year 2003.
Examples:
Triple transplant procedure: All three transplants performed in 2003: enter the first
transplant in table 1 and the other 2 transplants in either table 2 (allo) or 3 (auto).
Triple transplant procedure: First transplant performed in 2002 (this will have been
reported in the survey 2002) enter the remaining 2 transplants in table 2 (allo) or 3 (auto)
only.
Triple transplant procedure: First two transplants performed in 2002 (these will have
been reported in the survey 2002) enter the remaining third transplant in table 2 (allo) or
3 (auto) only.
Any transplants belonging to these multiple protocols not yet performed in 2003 should
be reported in the survey 2004.
• Table 4:
Donor lymphocyte infusions (DLI) should be entered as the total number of patients receiving
DLI in 2003 in table 4 only (not the number of infusions).
• Table 5:
Report the total of all HSCT performed in 2003. Add together the total of allo HSCT from
table 1 + table 2 = Total allo HSCT, and the total auto HSCT from table 1 + table 3 = Total
auto HSCT.
