05 Connect the pads to the sound module 06Adjust the hi-hat (VH-12) offsetAfter the VH-12 is connected to the <strong>TD</strong>-20X percussion sound module, the “VH Offset” must be adjusted.This adjustment is required in order to correctly detect open, close, and pedal operations.Connection procedureOperation procedure1. Connect the straight plugs of the cables built into the stand (MDS-25) to the sound module(<strong>TD</strong>-20X).2.Connect the L-shaped plugs of the cables to each pad.The names on the labels correspond to trigger input jack namesas follows.L-shaped PlugCableclipCable1.Loosen the clutch screw of the top hi-hat and let it sit on the bottom hi-hat.2. At least two personsare required to safely lift and move the stand. Itshould be handled carefully, all the whilekeeping it level. Make sure to have a firm grip,to protect yourself from injury and theinstrument from damage.• Check to make sure the hand knobs, boltsand screws securing the stand have notbecome loose.Fasten them again securely whenever younotice any loosening.• Disconnect the power cord.• Disconnect all cords coming from externaldevices..............................................................................................................For EU CountriesIMPORTANT NOTESPlacement354a• Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, place it near devices that radiate heat, leave it inside anenclosed vehicle, or otherwise subject it to temperature extremes. Excessive heat can deform ordiscolor the unit.355b• When moved from one location to another where the temperature and/or humidity is very different,water droplets (condensation) may form inside the unit. Damage or malfunction may result if youattempt to use the unit in this condition. Therefore, before using the unit, you must allow it to stand forseveral hours, until the condensation has completely evaporated.356• Do not allow rubber, vinyl, or similar materials to remain on the unit for long periods of time. Suchobjects can discolor or otherwise harmfully affect the finish.360• Depending on the material and temperature of the surface on which you place the unit, its rubber feetmay discolor or mar the surface.You can place a piece of felt or cloth under the rubber feet to prevent this from happening. If you do so,please make sure that the unit will not slip or move accidentally.add• Make sure to firmly tighten all hand knobs and bolts after you have assembled the stand and attachedany components. You should probably also try to make a habit of checking and retightening them ifnecessary before every performance. You risk injury if you have loose screws or clamps, since a pad orcomponent can fall unexpectedly.add• When setting up or storing the stand, be careful not to pinch your hands or fingers in the stand joints.add• Do not apply undue force to the hand knobs, pipes, mounts, etc.Maintenance401a• For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened withwater. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth impregnated with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards,be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.402• Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discolorationand/or deformation.Additional Precautions553• Use a reasonable amount of care when using the unit’s buttons, sliders, or other controls; and whenusing its jacks and connectors. Rough handling can lead to malfunctions.556• When connecting / disconnecting all cables, grasp the connector itself—never pull on the cable. Thisway you will avoid causing shorts, or damage to the cable’s internal elements.558a• To avoid disturbing your neighbors, try to keep the unit’s volume at reasonable levels. You may preferto use headphones, so you do not need to be concerned about those around you (especially when it islate at night).558d• This instrument is designed to minimize the extraneous sounds produced when it’s played. However,since sound vibrations can be transmitted through floors and walls to a greater degree than expected,take care not to allow these sounds to become a nuisance to neighbors, especially when performing atnight and when using headphones.559a• When you need to transport the unit, package it in the box (including padding) that it came in, ifpossible.
