Lech-Zürs ist immer wieder im Aufbruch. Den ganzen Sommer lang wurde viel
Lebenskraft, Know-how und Geld investiert für neue Infrastrukturen und Qualitätsverbesserungen
in unserem atemberaubend schönen Skigebiet. Denn das Urlaubserlebnis Lech soll

INITIAL AND FURTHER TRAINING' project, which we introduced for our staff some time ago.
Our staff are the backbone of our company. Their skills, professionalism and training, but also
their emotional well-being and work-life balance, are tremendously important to us. That's
why we regularly bring in experienced partners and run targeted seminars on products, sales

Es klingt wie ein Märchen in unserer rasanten, so vergesslichen
Zeit, aber es gibt sie noch – die Treue. Die
waschechte Lecherin ROSWITHA DUFTNER ist seit 40
Jahren im Hause Strolz in der Modeschuhabteilung
tätig. „Strolz ist meine Familie, mein Zuhause“, sagt
sie lakonisch. „Mein größter Wunsch ist es, hier in
Rente zu gehen.“ Über die alten Zeiten in Lech befragt,
antwortet sie: „Wir haben zwar gearbeitet bis zum
Umfallen und keiner hat auf die Uhr geschaut, aber
irgendwie war alles gemütlicher, nicht so schnelllebig wie
heute.“ Als Roswitha im vergangenen Sommer von einer
Knieverletzung geplagt wurde, wollte sie gar ihre Reha
vorzeitig abbrechen mit den Worten: „Die brauchen mich
doch im Sporthaus!“ Danke, Roswitha!

It may sound like a bit of a myth in these fast-moving,
fickle times, but loyalty does still exist. ROSWITHA
DUFTNER has lived in Lech all her life and has been
working in the shoe department at Strolz for 40 years.
'Strolz is my family, my home,' she says laconically. 'My
greatest wish is to keep working here until I retire.' When
asked what life used to be like in Lech, she replies: 'We
did use to work our fingers to the bone, and no one ever
looked at the clock, but somehow everything was more
relaxed and just not as fast-paced as it is today.' When
Roswitha injured her knee last summer, she even wanted
to come back to work early, saying: 'They need me in the
sports store!' Unconditional loyalty is not just a myth,
evidently. Thank you, Roswitha!

MAXIMILIAN KÖHLER from Munich founded the fashion
label Quantum Courage in April 2013 when he was just 22.
Ever since then, the designer has been creating exclusive

and feminine styles have become the hallmarks of Köhler's
distinctive style.

Austrian fashion designer LENA HOSCHEK, who studied
with Vivienne Westwood in London, brings two collections
to market every year. She focuses mainly on traditional
dress and her style plays ironically with that of
the Hollywood stars of the 1940s and 50s who are some
of her main influences. 'To me, being sexy means having
a sense of humour and being able to laugh at yourself' –
that's Hoschek's motto.

Dunkelheit. So wurde er zum ersten Skifahrer von Lech.
Fast so alt ist der legendäre Strolz Skischuh. Vor mehr als 90 Jahren wurde er erfunden. In dieser
Saison präsentieren wir ein neues Modell mit neuen Farben und neuer Schnallentechnologie –

under cover of darkness. And thus he became the first skier in Lech.
The legendary Strolz ski boot dates back almost as far as Pastor Müller's improvised skis. It
was invented over 90 years ago. This season we present a new model with new colours and
new buckling technology – tailored to every foot. The new boot is a high-quality Austrian
product and is manufactured in-house by Strolz. The inner boot is made entirely of leather.

Hafjell die Goldmedaille im Riesenslalom, und in Sotschi holte sie 2016 den Titel im Super-G.
In St. Moritz errang sie als Elftplatzierte des Super-G ihre ersten Weltcuppunkte. Nina liebt
Tennis, Bergwandern und Mountainbiken. Ihr Wohnzimmer ist die Bergkulisse von Lech.

St. Moritz she came eleventh in the super-G race, achieving her first World Cup points. Nina
loves tennis, trekking and mountain biking. Her living room is the mountain scenery of Lech.
Her favourite places are Lake Garda and, of course, Lech.

arbeiten hart daran.“ Lech ist Heimatort und Kraftquelle zugleich. Er liebt
das Klettern, das Golfen und verbringt seine Zeit am liebsten in der Natur

Die Arlberg-Region ist ein Eldorado für Skitourengeher.
Um die schneebedeckte Landschaft zu genießen, eignet
sich am besten eine ausgedehnte Skitour. Die berauschende
Bergkulisse des Arlbergs bietet zahlreiche
Aufstiegsvarianten und Abfahrten auf grandiosen Tiefschneepisten.
Das Tourengehen will jedoch gelernt sein
und bedarf großer Erfahrung im freien Gelände. Und vor
allem: Geduld mit sich selbst.
Wer zu schnell losgeht, den Rhythmus seines

The Arlberg region is an El Dorado for ski tourers. An
extended ski tour is the best way to enjoy the snowy landscape.
The breathtaking mountain scenery of the Arlberg
range offers a variety of ascent options and descents
on magnificent off-piste runs. Touring takes practice,
however, and requires a great deal of experience in noncontrolled
areas. And above all, it requires patience.
If you try and go too fast without listening
to the rhythm of your heart, you won't make it, so the
professionals say. If you go against the mountain rather
than with it, you will be forced to turn back. Only a prudent
skier gets to experience the magic of a silence that almost
nobody else will ever hear. The everyday noises that we
usually don't even notice gradually die away and the only
sound that remains is the steady heartbeat of the tourer
in a silent, pristine landscape.

In dieser Saison präsentiert das Sporthaus Strolz die Accessoires-Abteilung in komplett
überarbeitetem, modernem Kleid. Die Präsentation von Sport- und Modebrillen, von
Mützen und Handschuhen sowie der Reparatur-Service wurden noch übersichtlicher und ansprechender
gestaltet. Hochwertige Materialien wie Eiche und Leder wurden verwandt und
vermitteln Behaglichkeit.
Die gebürtige Kärntnerin Martina Lagger – seit nunmehr 18 Jahren in unserer „FAMILIE“ –
ist der gute Geist der Accessoire-Abteilung. Martina ist eine leidenschaftliche Sportlerin. Ihr
Anspruch ist es, nur das einzukaufen, was sie selbst auch outdoor getestet hat. Ihr geht es um
das Zusammenspiel zwischen Produkt und Natur, um die Tauglichkeit unter verschiedensten
Bedingungen. Sie liebt ihren Beruf, das Dasein für die Gäste, das Gespräch. „Fachberatung
wird wieder immer mehr geschätzt“, sagt Martina Lagger, „und das in Zeiten, da scheinbar
niemand mehr Zeit hat.“ Der Zusammenhalt unter den Kollegen ist ihr enorm wichtig. „Nur
so sind wir ein Team mit Ausstrahlung“, fügt sie hinzu und lächelt charmant.

This season the Strolz sports store presents its completely revamped and modernised
accessories department. Our displays of hats, gloves and sports and fashion eyewear, as well
as our repair service area, have been made even more attractive and clearly arranged. Highquality
materials such as oak and leather have been used to create a cosy environment.
Martina Lagger, who was born in Carinthia and has been part of the Strolz 'FAMILY' for 18 years
now, is the guiding light of the accessories department. Martina is passionate about sport. She
only ever purchases equipment that she has tested outdoors herself. For her, the most important
thing about a product is the way it interacts with nature, the way it performs under widely varying
conditions. She loves her job, particularly chatting to customers and offering them advice.
'People are really starting to value specialist advice again,' says Martina Lagger, 'even these days
when nobody seems to have any time anymore.' She says the team spirit she and her colleagues
share is tremendously important to her. 'It means that as a team we give off really positive vibes,'
she says with a big smile.

Die legendäre Trittkopfbahn aus dem Jahr 1962 – das einstige Wahrzeichen von Zürs –
ist Geschichte. Durch eine neue Verbindung zwischen Lech/Zürs und Stuben/St. Christoph
können Skifahrer nun alle Orte am Arlberg erreichen. Das macht Ski Arlberg zum größten
zusammenhängenden Skigebiet Österreichs.
Auf zahlreichen Kartenmotiven und Werbepostern warb die alte Trittkopfbahn für den Skitourismus
und hat Generationen von Skifahrern sicher befördert. Ihr Abriss lehrt uns, dass die
Spuren, die wir auf diesem Planeten hinterlassen, schnell verwehen.
Der Mensch ist ein Augenzwinkern in der Dauer der Erdgeschichte.

The legendary Trittkopf cable car from 1962 – once emblematic of Zürs – is no more.
Using a new connection between Lech/Zürs and Stuben/St. Christoph, skiers can now get
everywhere in the Arlberg range. This makes Ski Arlberg the biggest connected ski region in
Austria. The old Trittkopf cable car appeared on many a postcard and advertising poster as an
emblematic image of ski tourism and transported generations of skiers safely up the mountain. Its
removal shows that the traces we leave on this earth can vanish just as quickly as they appeared.
In terms of the history of our planet, human civilisation is just a flash in the pan.

the wheels, maintain the brakes and gears, check the

„KOMMT NICHT IMMER AUS DENSELBEN LÖCHERN!“, flüsterte Buster Keaton ins Auditorium,
als er den Ehren-Oscar erhielt, und er meinte damit, dass man sich nicht auf Bewährtem
ausruhen dürfe. Zwar sind wir mächtig stolz darauf, dass wir mit dem letztjährigen Strolz
Katalog den international begehrten „RED DOT AWARD 2016“ gewinnen konnten (Denise Ender,
Agentur DAVILLA, Bregenz), und dennoch wissen wir nur zu genau, dass man nie das „REZEPT“
gefunden hat, das Betriebsgeheimnis des Erfolgs ...
Wir fingen wieder bei null an, wollten etwas ganz Neues probieren – ganz im Sinne von
Buster Keaton. Wie wäre es, fragte sich Denise Ender, wenn ein Schriftsteller, ein Dichter,
Motti für einen Werbekatalog schriebe? Sie fragte einen Schriftsteller – ROBERT SCHNEIDER,
der mit seinem Debütroman „SCHLAFES BRUDER“ einen Welterfolg landete, der in 34 Sprachen
übersetzt wurde. Schneider sagte zu, und so entstand ein Produktkatalog mit Poesie,
mit Sätzen, die voller Nachdenklichkeit sind, getragen von dem Wissen, dass man in diesem
Leben nichts hat als den intensiv gelebten Augenblick. Das wurde zum Motto der neuen
Arbeit, dank dem Mut der Firma STROLZ, die so ein Wagnis überhaupt erst ermöglicht hat.
Ach ja! Das, worüber wir uns am meisten freuen: Unser Fotograf Florian ist Vater geworden.
Keine Ehre, keine Anerkennung, kein Preis dieser Welt ist so groß wie das Wunder,
geboren zu werden.

/ BEHIND THE SCENES
'DON'T ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE SAME HOLES!' whispered Buster Keaton to the
auditorium on receiving his honorary Oscar. He meant that we should not simply rely on
what we already know works. We are hugely proud of that fact that last year's Strolz catalogue
won the internationally coveted 'RED DOT AWARD 2016' (Denise Ender, Agentur DAVILLA,
Bregenz), yet we know that there is no failsafe 'RECIPE' or secret to success...
We started from scratch, wanting to try something completely new – just like Buster
Keaton. Denise Ender came up with the idea of getting a writer – a poet – to write phrases for
the catalogue. She approached ROBERT SCHNEIDER, an author whose debut novel 'SCHLAFES
BRUDER' (Brother of Sleep) was an international success and has been translated into 34
languages. Schneider agreed to write for Strolz and so a product catalogue was born featuring
poetry and thought-provoking phrases based on the knowledge that we have nothing in this
life but moments lived with intensity. This became the motto of the new work thanks to the
courage of STROLZ, who made such a daring venture possible.
Oh yes! The thing that makes us happiest of all: our photographer Florian has become
a father. No honour, no award, no prize in the world can compare to the miracle of birth.
