Whins and Weather, the new (and 6th) CD by Beki Hemingway
and her husband, guitarist, and co-writer Randy Kerkman covers a lot of
ground: Americana, gospel, folk, and pop, woven together seamlessly.
Produced by Kerkman and Commitments guitarist Conor Brady in Dublin,
Ireland, Whins and Weather documents songs written in the time the
couple sold their home, quit their jobs, and committed to a renewed life of
“music, travel, and service,” only to weather an unexpected fourth goal for
Hemingway, beating breast cancer! Now in remission, Beki was diagnosed
with Stage 1 breast cancer, and completed recording the album during
treatment.
Hemingway’s long and varied career as a Christian artist and independent
singer/songwriter has found her in several bands, singing backup vocals for
Train, and providing vocals in the studio on several Word Records releases
ranging from industrial to inspirational music, but it’s the team of Hemingway
with husband/guitarist Kerkman (Yonderboy, In3D, Generation) that
has yielded the most rewarding results. Together, they have toured extensively
in the USA. The couple are currently based on County Wexford,
Ireland and looking to book European shows for 2018 and beyond.
