L4 and L3, 3-year-old horses:

Julia Knapp & Gunlover win L3
The day before, Lena Schmidl and Julia
Knapp were already on the podium -
Lena Schmidl and her ND Special Nitter
(Gunner Special Nite x Dun Step N Out)
had become Austrian Futurity Champion
Non Pro in L2, Austrian Julia Knapp
and her Gunlover (Tinseltownsmokingun
x Ruf Lil Scamp) Futurity Champion L1.
And then they both claimed the Futurity
Championship in L4 and L3 as well.
With a 212.5, Lena Schmidl and her stallion
bred by Nathalie Derua took the top
spot in the L4 finalist field. „I am so happy,“
beamed the 24-year-old reiner, who
was 2016 NRHA European Futurity Non
Pro Champion in L1 to 3 and Reserve in
L4. „I bought him in spring from Marina
Becker, who also started him. I then gave
him to Dominik Reminder for training
and went riding there as often as possible.
Here at the Futurity, the stallion was
extremely relaxed in the showpen. He
has a super mind!. His best manoeuvre
is the stop - you can always rely on that,
and Dominik has set us both up great!
Reserve Futurity Champion L3 was Bo
Brutsaert on KB Dreaminbout Jen (CJ
Whiz x Smart Whizzin Jenny) bred by
Bruko Reining Horses - the score: 211.5.
The two were already third in L2 the day
before.
Third place honours went to Richard
Hagl with his Spook by Hollywood (Best
Spook x Gunnin In Hollywood), with
whom he had led the L4 Go round. The
two scored a 210,5 in the final. Fourth
place was taken by a 207.5 Viktor Van

Wijngaarden with his mare Topsail Step
(Mr Sparkle Joe x OT Stepin Closer).
With her he was third in L1 the day before.
In the L3 Julia Knapp and her Gunlover
wanted to know it again. The stallion,
bred by Julia Gaupmann-Lechner,
had already placed first in L1 and L2
in the preliminary round, became Futurity
Champion L1 and Reserve Futurity
Champion L2 and shone today with a top
run in L3. 214,5 was the result and the
second Futurity Champion title.
Reserve Futurity Champion L3 was Lena
Schmidl with ND Special Nitter. The
third place was shared by three riders
with a 211,5: Bo Brutsaert on KB Dreaminbout
Jen, Matteo Di Giamberardino
on Top Jac 86 (LMC Im Topsail Dunit x
Holly De Jac) bred by Tony Amadio and
Julia Gaupmann-Lechner with Guns
Are For Ladies (Tinseltownsmokingun
x LV One Smart Lady). With this mare
Julia had led the L3 Go round. Matteo
Di Giamberardino and Top Jac 86 were
Reserve Futurity Champion Non Pro L1
the day before.
