The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research

Who should apply?
A postgraduate is eligible to apply if he/she has
• a master’s degree or a PhD in economics/business
administration or related studies
• a strong interest in applied economic research as
well as in economic policy advising
• the ability to work in a team and at the same time
the capacity to pursue academic work independently
• a good knowledge of statistics and econometrics
• command of German (helpful but not obligatory)
The PhD track of the Center for Doctoral Studies in Economics
(CDSE) at the University of Mannheim in cooperation with the
ZEW offers promising economists the opportunity to pursue
their doctoral studies in the inspiring research environment of
