Diese Broschüre enthält Informationen zur Bekanntmachung 

der LOKRING-Technologie für dauerhafte, nicht lösbare Verbindungen 

von Rohren und ihrer Anwendung. 

Die LOKRING-Rohrverbindungstechnologie ist eine Methode 

zur Herstellung von hermetisch dichten Metall/Metall-Rohrverbindungen. 

Die Montage ist nach Vorschrift und ausschließlich mit Original- 

LOKRING-Teilen auszuführen. 

Die LOKRING-Rohrverbindung ist durch Patente und Patentanmeldungen 

weltweit geschützt. 

Wichtig 

Die LOKRING-Gesellschaften liefern nur LOKRINGe bzw. 

LOKRING-Verbindungen. Der Verwender trägt die Verantwortung 

dafür, dass sichergestellt wird, dass die fertigen Verbindungen 

geeignet sind für den Einsatz in dem System oder der Anlage, für 

die sie bestimmt sind. 

In diesem Zusammenhang wird auf die Möglichkeit der Spannungsrisskorrosion 

bei Messingmaterial unter besonderen Bedingungen 

hingewiesen. 

Festigkeit gegen Herausziehen und Platzfestigkeit, d.h. die absolute 

Festigkeit der Verbindung hängt von dem Rohr ab, das durch 

den LOKRING verbunden wird. 

Die tatsächlichen Werte können nur durch Tests festgestellt werden.

Introduction 

This brochure contains information for introducing the LOKRINGtechnology 

and its application for the durable joining of tubes. 

The LOKRING tube connection technology represents a method of 

producing metal-to-metal hermetically sealed tube connections. 

The assembly has to be performed according to the respective instructions 

using only original LOKRING parts. 

The LOKRING tube joining is world wide protected by patents and 

patent applications 

Important 

The LOKRING companies only deliver LOKRINGs and LOKRING 

joinings respectively. The user bears the responsibility that the connectors 

are suitable for the application in the system or plant they are 

designed for. 

In this context we would like to point out that there is the possibility of 

stress corrosion from brass under special conditions. 

The absolute stability of the connection, which means that it cannot 

be moved or pulled out depends on the tube which is connected by the 

LOKRING.

Eine LOKRING-Verbindung wird folgendermaßen hergestellt: 

Nachdem die Rohre teleskopartig ineinandergeschoben worden 

sind, wird der LOKRING in seine Startposition gebracht, d.h. der 

größte Innendurchmesser wird auf das aufgeweitete Rohrende 

gesetzt. 

Abschnitt “A” des LOKRINGs ermöglicht ein leichtes Einführen 

des äußeren Rohres und reduziert dieses während der Montage 

soweit, daß ein fester Preßsitz zwischen den Rohrteilen entsteht. 

Der zylindrische Teil “B” sorgt für eine hohe Biegefestigkeit und 

widersteht den Torsionskräften, denen die Verbindung ausgesetzt 

sein kann.Während der LOKRING sich weiter auf seine Endmontage-Position 

zubewegt, werden Rohr und Passung fortschreitend 

durch den LOKRING verformt, wobei der Abschnitt “C” mit 

seinem kleinsten Innendurchmesser beide Rohrteile weiter reduziert 

und den Hauptabdichtungsbereich bildet. 

Unmittelbar nach Vollendung der LOKRING-Rohrverbindung 

erreichen die nach außen gerichteten Radialkräfte der beiden 

Rohre und die nach innen gerichteten Radialkräfte des LOKRINGs 

einen Gleichgewichtszustand, der für die gesamte Lebensdauer 

der LOKRING-Verbindung als ein Zustand elastischer Vorspannung 

beibehalten wird. 

Die Rohrmontage ist abgeschlossen, wenn der LOKRING so weit 

über das äußere Rohr montiert wurde, dass dessen Ende ca. 1 bis 3 

mm hinter dem LOKRING sichtbar ist. Für das innere und äußere 

Rohrende ist nichts weiter erforderlich, als dass sie mit Rücksicht 

auf das System sauber und entgratet sind. 

Das aufgeweitete äußere Rohrende kann vorher den Durchmesser 

des inneren Rohres haben oder ein Rohr mit entsprechendem 

Innendurchmesser sein. Ist die Aufbereitung von Rohren zum 

Übereinanderschieben unerwünscht oder nicht möglich, so kann 

die etwas abgewandelte Form der Ein-Ring-Verbindung, die 

LOKRING-Kupplung, eingesetzt werden. Diese Ausführung 

besteht dann aus zwei LOKRINGen und einem vorgefertigten 

Stutzen, der groß genug ist, um die beiden Rohrenden aufzunehmen.

A LOKRING joint is made in the following manner: 

The tubes are first telescopically engaged with each other, then the 

LOKRING is placed in its starting position, i.e. the largest internal 

diameter is placed on the flared tube. 

Section “A” of the LOKRING allows that the LOKRING is moved 

easily onto the outer tube and this outer tube is reduced during the 

assembly until a force fit between the parts of the tube is made. 

The cylindrical part “B” accomodates a high flexible strength and is 

resistant against the torsion forces, of which the joint can be compliant. 

As the LOKRING is further moved to its final assembly position, 

both tubes are steadily deformed by the LOKRING, whereby 

section “C” of the LOKRING further reduces the tubular parts with 

its smallest internal diameter, so the main sealing region is formed. 

Immediately after completion of the LOKRING joint the outwardly 

directed radial forces of the two tubular parts and the inwardly directed 

radial forces of the LOKRING reach a state of equilibrium which 

will be maintained as an elastic preload condition throughout the 

life of the LOKRING joint. 

The tube assembly is finished if the LOKRING is assembled over the 

outside tube that the end of this tube is visible approx. 1 to 3 mm 

behind the LOKRING. For the inner and outer tube ends nothing 

else is necessary than to clean and to debur them in regard to preparation.

If the one tube, to be used as the outer tube, does not have the corresponding 

internal diameter, the end of this tube can be flared in 

order to adapt its internal diameter to the outer diameter of the 

inserted tube. If it is desired or not possible to prepare the tubes 

for overlapping, the LOKRING coupling, representing a variation 

of the SINGLE RING joint, may be used. This type consists of two 

LOKRINGs and a pre-fabricated joint, which is big enough to adapt 

the two tube ends.

Die Funktion und Anwendung von LOKPREP 

The function and use of LOKPREP 

Trotz des extrem hohen Metall/Metall-Druckes in der Rohrverbindung 

ist es nicht immer möglich, tiefe Oberflächenporosität 

und Ziehriefen vollständig zu verschließen. Um hier zusätzliche 

Sicherheit zu erhalten, werden die Oberflächen der Rohrenden 

mit LOKPREP, einer anaeroben Flüssigkeit (sie enthält Di- 

Methacrylatester), benetzt. Das LOKPREP fließt in die Hohlstellen, 

wird bei der Montage eingeschlossen und härtet dann 

aus. Dies ergibt eine perfekte Einschließung und Abdichtung der 

Oberflächenschäden.

Bei einer LOKRING-Rohrverbindung wird nicht die Klebeeigenschaft 

der Anaerobia genutzt, sondern die Reinigungs- 

wirkung und die Tatsache, daß Anaerobia und Epoxyde sich verfestigen, 

ohne daß sich Lösungsmittel verflüchtigen müssen. 

Da das LOKPREP nur zum Auffüllen von Oberflächenschäden 

dient und nicht als Bindemittel, welches an der Oberfläche des 

Rohres haften muß, kann die Verbindung nach der Montage in 

Betrieb genommen oder auf Druck geprüft werden. Anaerobia 

und andere Füll- und Dichtungsmittel haben sich seit Jahren in 

fast allen Bereichen der Industrie bewährt. 

Despite the high metal/metal pressure in the tube joint it is not 

always possible to seal deep surface scratches and longitudinal 

grooves completely. In order to obtain additional safety the surfaces 

of the tube ends are moistened with LOKPREP, an anaerobic liquid 

(containing di-methacrylic ester). The LOKPREP penetrates into the 

hollow spaces and scratches, it is applied during the assembly and 

then hardens. The result is a perfect sealing even of damaged surface 

demage.

Concerning the use LOKPREP the solvent characteristic of the 

anaerobia is not used, but the cleaning effect and the fact that anaerobia 

and epoxyde will strengthen, without volatilization of the 

solvents. 

Since LOKPREP is only a filler of tube surface blemishes and not 

used as a bonding agent, which must adhere at the tube surface, the 

joint may be placed into service or may be pressure tested shortly 

after the joint has been “made”. Anaerobia and other filling and 

sealing media have been proven true for many years in nearly all 

industrial fields.

Auswahl des LOKRINGs 

Choice of the LOKRING 

Aufgrund der vielen Möglichkeiten hinsichtlich der Abmessungen 

und Toleranzen der zu verbindenden Rohre kann in dieser 

Information keine nach Größen und Anwendungsfällen geordnete 

Übersicht über verfügbare LOKRINGe dargestellt werden. 

Der für den jeweiligen Bedarfsfall einzusetzende LOKRING wird 

vom Hersteller nach den Angaben des Kunden (Rohrabmessungen, 

Maßtoleranzen und Rohrwerkstoffe) oder nach übergebenden 

Abschnitten der Originalrohre, die miteinander verbunden werden 

sollen, ausgelegt. 

Werden Rohre aus verschiedenen Werkstoffen miteinander verbunden, 

sollte das Rohr aus dem weicheren Werkstoff aufgeweitet 

werden.

Because of the wide range of size and tolerance of tubes, it is not 

possible to catalogue all available LOKRING sizes in this brochure. 

The individually required LOKRING is designed by the manu- 

facturer according to the details supplied by the costumers (tube 

dimension, dimensional tolerances and material) or according to 

transfered tubes, which have to be assembled. 

If tubes of different materials are connected, the softer tube should 

be flared.

The universal jaw is for receiving the various flaring and pusher 

inserts. The grip jaw is for receiving the clamping jaws adjusted to 

the tube external diameter. 

The manual assembly tool HMER is not suited for the serial production 

only for producing samples. 

Clamp sleeves, pusher and flaring inserts should correspond with the 

dimensions of the tubes to be joined, and should be ordered independently 

from the HMER hand assembly tool.

angepasst.

Hydraulic flaring tool for aluminium 

The hydraulic flaring tool is for the flaring of aluminium tubes for the 

production of LOKRING Single-Ring tube joinings. It is connected 

to the LOKRING hydraulic aggregate by two 2.8 m hydraulic hoses. 

The forward and backward movement of the flaring insert is executed 

by means of a double acting cylinder. The size of the clamping 

jaw and the flaring insert depends on the tube outside diameter.

Arbeitsanleitung 

1. Das aufzuweitende Rohrende wird so zwischen die von Hand 

geöffneten Klemmbacken positioniert, daß es am Aufweitdorn 

anliegt. 

2. Durch Betätigung des Drucktasters wird das Rohr von den 

Klemmbacken festgeklemmt und von dem Aufweitdorn 

aufgeweitet.

3. Nach dem Aufweitvorgang kann das aufgeweitete Rohr aus 

dem Werkzeug herausgezogen werden.

Working instruction 

1. The clamping jaws have to be opened by hand and the tube end to 

be flared is to be inserted between the clamping jaws up to the 

flaring insert. 

2. By the actuation of the push button the tube is clamped by the 

clamping jaws and flared by the flaring insert. 

3. After the flaring process the flared tube can be removed from the 

tool.

Hydraulisches Montagewerkzeug 

Das hydraulische Montagewerkzeug ermöglicht die Verbindung 

von Rohren mit gleichen oder unterschiedlichen Rohrdurchmessern. 

Die Herstellung der Rohrverbindung erfordert keine 

besondere Rohrvorbereitung und kann von Hilfskräften am 

Montageband ausgeführt werden. 

Das Werkzeug ist über einen 2,8m langen Hydraulikschlauch mit 

dem LOKRING-Hydraulik-Aggregat verbunden. Die Größe der 

Klemm- und Montagebacken sind von den Abmessungen der 

Rohrverbindung abhängig.

The hydraulic assembly tool allows the LOKRING connection of 

tubes with similar or different tube diameters. The production of the 

joining requires no special preparation of the tubes and can be made 

by unskilled workers. 

The tool is connected to the LOKRING hydraulic aggregate by a

are dependent on the dimensions of the tubes to be joined.

1. Vorbereitung der Rohrverbindung 

• DenLOKRINGsoaufdasInnenrohrschieben,dassdieFase auf 

das zu verbindende Rohrende gerichtet ist. 

• Innenrohr mindestens “LOKRING-Länge + 3 mm” in das 

Außenrohr schieben (bei aufgeweitetem Außenrohr bis zum 

Anschlag) und LOKPREP zwischen die ineinander ge- 

schobenen Rohre geben.

Die LOKRING-Hydraulik Aggregate 

Technische Beschreibung 

Das LOKRING-Hydraulik-Aggregat erzeugt den erforderlichen 

Arbeitsdruck für das Aufweit- bzw. Montagewerkzeug. Das Aggregat 

ist transportabel und entsprechend seinem Verwendungszweck 

an jedem Arbeitsplatz einsetzbar. LOKRING-Werkzeuge werden 

durch Schnellverschlußkupplungen über Hydraulik-Schläuche 

mit dem Aggregat verbunden. Das Aggregat wird durch den an den 

Werkzeugen befindlichen Fernbedienungsschalter angesteuert. 

Eine Schalt- und Steuereinrichtung regelt den hydraulischen 

Druck über die Sitzventile zu den Werkzeugen.

The LOKRING hydraulic aggregates 

Technical description 

The LOKRING hydraulic aggregate produces the required working 

pressure for the flaring and assembly tools. The aggregate is transportable 

and according to its application available at each work 

place. The LOKRING tools are connected to the hydraulic aggregate 

by quick connections and hydraulic hoses. To actuate the aggregate 

push the remote control switch to be found on the tool. The hydraulic 

pressure is controlled by a switch and control gear, and control valves 

to the tools.

saubere und schnelle Verschließen von Rohrenden nach dem

1. Nach Beendigung des Füllvorgangs ist das Werkzeug mindestens

geschoben wurde.

Der FULFILLER-Injektor ist ein vollständig pneumatisch gesteuerter 

Injektor, in dem bestimmte Teile des Vakuum-, Kälte- und 

Nadelventils in einem Mechanismus integriert wurden, um 

Toträume im Inneren zu verhindern. Dies gewährleistet einen 

vollständigen Kältemitteltransfer und gibt somit kein Kältemittel 

an die Umwelt frei. 

• Die Verbindung zur zu füllenden Einheit ist eine 1/4” Hansen 

Kupplung 

• Die Standardschlauchlänge ist 3,5m

Der ISSO Injektor ist ein komplett pneumatisch gesteuerter

The FULFILLER injector is the all pneumatic operated injector where 

the different parts of the vacuum valve, of the refrigerant valve and of 

the needle valve are integrated in a single mechanism to kill any death 

space inside the injector and fully transfer all the measured refrigerant 

inside the unit under process. The FULFILLER is the no refrigerant 

release injector.

Kalibriergerät TE 85/2 für den Gebrauch

Die Testeinrichtung TE 85/2 dient speziell der Kalibrierung von 

Wasserstofflecksuchsystemen. In den 2 Stahlflaschen, je 1 Liter,

Calibration unit TE 85/2 for use

The TE 85/2 tester is especially for calibration hydrogen leak test units. 

A test gas mixture containing 10ppm H2 in synthetic air is contained 

in two steel bottles (1ltr each) at a pressure of approx. 150bar. The gas 

certificate is attached to the steel bottles and should be left there. The 

unit comes with the required reduction, take-off regulator pre-assembled 

with a take-off hose and detector coupling. The test gas mixture of 

one bottle valid for approx. 1 year.

Thermoplast-Rohr 

X015 

Flexible Rohre zum Ausgleichen starker Vibrationen. Im Falle von 

Kältemittelanlagen bei denen Sicherheitsdruckschalter mit Kapillarrohren 

angeschlossen sind, fordert der TÜV einen Austausch 

der Kapillare durch Anschlussleitungen ≥ DN4, um ein Zusetzen 

der Leitungen zu vermeiden. 

Lieferbar in vorgefertigten Längen inklusive Kupferdichtungen. 


Außendurchmesser: 8,0mm

Anschlüsse: 

Bei allen Anschlussarten sind weder Löt- noch Schweißarbeiten 

erforderlich. Daher werden Wärmeeinwirkungen auf Druckschalter, 

Schläuche usw. vermieden.

Das Bestellzeichen setzt sich zusammen aus dem Kürzel für das 

Thermoplast-Rohr “X015” sowie den Codes für die 2 Anschlüsse 

und der Länge des Rohres in mm.

Flexible tubes for compensating strong vibrations. When safety 

pressure switches in cooling devices are connected by using capillary 

tubes, the TÜV demands to replace them by tubes with diameter 

≥ DN4 in order to prevent blocked connections. 

Tubes can be supplied in prefabricated length including copper gaskets. 


Outside diameter: 8.0mm

• Maximum operating pressure: 40bar 

• Operating temperature: -35°C up to 115°C (–31°F-237°F) 

• Fire resistance: class HB, UL 94

Connections: 

With all connections soldering and welding is not necessary. Thus 

heat influences on pressure switches, hoses etc. are avoided.

The order code consists of the identification code for the thermoplastic 

tube ”X015” as well as the codes for the 2 connections and the 

length of the tube in mm.
