6TH CANTA AL MAR – FESTIVAL CORAL INTERNACIONAL October 25 - 29, 2017 Calella/Barcelona, Spain Sing and Fun at the Mediterranean Sea The festival "Canta al mar" has become an essential activity in INTERKULTUR’s event calendar. Since 2012 choirs from all over the world meet in the city of Calella in Catalonia/Spain and celebrate the international choral festival with plenty of singing and traditional Paella. Each year Calella attracts new choirs through its Catalan charm. Long sandy beaches, sunny weather, the Mediterranean Sea and the proximity to the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona are included in the participation. According to the choirs’ wishes Barcelona can be included in their individual schedule in the context of the competition, as a venue for Friendship Concerts or simply as a destination for excursions. All concert and competition venues in Calella are within walking distance and can therefore be combined ideally with a placid stroll through the historic center. That way choirs meet, sing together in Friendship Concerts and get to know other nations and their individual traditions. <strong>Calella</strong> – Deportes<br />
La ciudad de <strong>Calella</strong>, certificada como Destino de Turismo Deportivo (DTF) por la Agencia Catalana<br />
de Turismo, dispone de buenas instalaciones para la práctica de toda clase de deportes, como fútbol,<br />
baloncesto, balonmano, atletismo, natación, tenis, actividades náuticas y, a pocos kilómetros<br />
de la ciudad, la po¬sibilidad de hacer senderismo por el parque del Montnegre. Cada año se celebran<br />
dos importantes pruebas internacionales de triatlón, el Half Challenge en el mes de mayo y el<br />
Challenge a finales de septiembre principios de octubre con la participación de triatletas de todo el<br />
mundo. Esta prueba ha sido escogida por segundo año consecutivo como “Mejor Triatlón 2011” por<br />

La importancia de la población se hace evidente en la gran cantidad de actos culturales, folklóricos<br />
y festivos que se celebran durante todo el año, como el Festimatge, el Aplec de la Sardana, los<br />
festivales musicales, folclóricos y de canto coral, la feria de <strong>Calella</strong> y la Oktoberfest, entre otros. De<br />

son de visita obligada el museo archivo y el centro de interpretación de las comunicaciones ubicado<br />
