Membership structure<br />

Among <strong>the</strong> approx. 50 member companies, global players like<br />

Siemens Medical Solutions, B. Braun and Dräger Medical as well as<br />

medium-scale enterprises like Meiko, Tunstall or seca are to be<br />

found. The more different <strong>the</strong> sizes of enterprises, <strong>the</strong> more varied<br />

<strong>the</strong> product range: The greater part of <strong>the</strong> <strong>GHE</strong> companies are<br />

active in electrical and medical technology, followed by those<br />

dealing with and manufacturing medical commodities and expendable<br />

items, physio<strong>the</strong>rapy, orthopaedics, laboratory processing,<br />

services and publications. Besides, areas like rescue equipment,<br />

medicine for emergency purposes, diagnostic products, IT<br />

and communication technology are also represented in <strong>the</strong> <strong>GHE</strong>.<br />

Altoge<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> German Healthcare Export Group stands for about<br />

80 per cent of <strong>the</strong> German export volume in medical technology.<br />

Germany is much in international demand: Alongside <strong>the</strong> US and<br />

Japan, it belongs to <strong>the</strong> group of leading global providers.<br />
