PRESS RELEASE
Call for Interest starting in May / Storengy Deutschland
GmbH offers new storage capacity for natural gas in
Germany
MARKETING OF NEW CAPACITIES TO BE DEVELOPED IN CAVERN STORAGE
FACILITIES / INTERESTED PARTIES MAY ANSWER UNTIL JUNE 2009
Berlin, 04.05.2009 –Storengy Deutschland GmbH is currently planning to develop a new storage
facility of natural gas north of Hanover. The total working gas volume of the salt caverns for the
storage of natural gas will amount to approximately 400 million m³, with the first capacities available
by the autumn of 2015.
The storage facility shall be linked to the transport network of Gasunie Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG.
The currently ongoing Open Season of the network operator and the marketing process of Storengy
will be coordinated as closely as possible between the two companies in order to facilitate the use of
capacity in the storage facility and on the transport network.
“Our storage product is extremely promising, and with our offer we wish to react to our future
customers’ demands as flexibly as possible,” said Dr. Jürgen Rückheim, Chairman of Storengy
Deutschland GmbH. He asks all interested parties to consider the non-binding Call for Interest as a
chance to express their demand and requests, for example, with respect to the technical performance
of the storage facility.
Interested parties are invited to contact Storengy Deutschland GmbH for the forthcoming auction
process beginning 04 May 2009 and to communicate their needs until 12 June 2009. After termination
of this first marketing phase, Storengy will set the parameters for the subsequent auction on the basis
of the data received.
The second phase of the process will be expected to begin in September of this year. Any offered
capacities can be purchased in a binding auction process. The marketing process will be carried out in
a transparent and non-discriminatory manner on the basis of sample contracts.
Interested parties will find the form for the Call for Interest on the company’s homepage under
www.storengy.de/News/Current Sales Procedures; more details on the subsequent process will be
available in the summer.
