Digital High Power Pocket Hearing System<br />
Product Description<br />
<strong>Apollon</strong> is a digital, high power pocket hearing instrument,<br />
useful for a wide range of hearing losses.<br />
The standard configuration of <strong>Apollon</strong> is monaural air conduction,<br />
but can be converted to binaural air conduction or monaural/binaural<br />
bone conduction by using the appropriate accessories.<br />
Programming of <strong>Apollon</strong> is by using the <strong>Starkey</strong>Fit2 software<br />
<strong>Starkey</strong>Fit2<br />

GENERAL<br />
Q .What configurations of the system are available?<br />
A .Monaural and binaural air conduction, monaural and binaural bone conduction.<br />
Q. What accessories are included as standard with the aid?<br />
A. Monaural cable, AC receiver, and user guide. Software, screwdriver and measuring tape are<br />
also supplied with first orders.<br />
Q. Which type of batteries does the <strong>Apollon</strong> take and what is the estimated battery life?<br />
A. 2 x AA, 190 hours.<br />
Q. Are the Bone Conduction Headbands adjustable?<br />
A. No, there are four different sizes of headband to choose from. A “standard” size is supplied<br />
unless otherwise stated.<br />
Q. How do I determine the correct headband size for Bone Conduction fittings?<br />
A. For monaural headbands a measurement across the head from temple to opposite mastoid is<br />
required. For binaural headbands the measurement is from mastoid to mastoid.<br />
By using this measurement + /- 5 mm either a Small, Medium, Standard, and Large headband<br />
can be selected. (See product guide)<br />
Q . Are the cables available in other colours ?<br />
A. No, only White.<br />
SOFTWARE/PROGRAMMING<br />
Q. What software is required for programming?<br />
A. <strong>Starkey</strong>fit two stand alone software available on disc and supplied with first order. Please note<br />
that it is not NOAH compatible and will require a Hipro Box to program.<br />
Q. Which programming cables are used?<br />
A. CS44 - standard 4 pin<br />
Q. Where is the programming socket?<br />
A. To access the programme socket the shirt clip must be unscrewed and removed.<br />
Q. Does the software contain fitting formulas?<br />
A. Yes, it uses ” NAL” for Air Conduction and ” BC Fit “ for Bone conduction.<br />

losses. The <strong>Apollon</strong> is primarily used for severe sensory neural<br />
losses however it can be converted using the appropriate<br />
accessories to provide a bone conduction solution.<br />
<strong>Starkey</strong> DP8 Bone Conduction Hairband:<br />
<strong>Starkey</strong>'s own entry level Bone Conduction System uses a high<br />
powered, trimmer controlled BTE attached to a lightweight, plastic<br />
hairband.<br />
Bruckhoff Bone Conduction Adjustable Headset:<br />
Primarily used as a demonstration product the adjustable headset<br />
provides an ideal, instant indication of Bone Conduction suitability.<br />
Bruckhoff Junior BC/BHM Contact Mini<br />
Both systems provide a paediatric bone conduction solution. The<br />
Junior BC is a small, cosmetic BC aid incorporated into a sports<br />
headband. The Contact Mini can either be inserted into a fabric<br />
headband, attached to a lightweight, plastic hairband or fitted into<br />
a baseball cap.<br />
