How long should I have worked at SFIA Level 5 before I can apply?<br />
You are required to have worked at SFIA Level 5 for at least 12 months prior to your application.<br />
What does my supporter need to do?<br />
We will send your supporter a report form which they need to complete and return directly to <strong>BCS</strong> by email or post, verifying your work experience<br />
over the last 12 months. They must provide as much detail as possible and in their own words give specific examples which show you are working at<br />
SFIA Level 5.<br />
Does my supporter have to have <strong>Chartered</strong> status?<br />
It is not essential that your supporter is a <strong>Chartered</strong> <strong>IT</strong> <strong>Professional</strong>. What is important is that they are familiar with your day-to-day work over the last<br />
12 months and can provide a detailed opinion of your level of competence.<br />
What is involved in the interview, should one be required?<br />
The interview is to discuss your career and clarify your competence and achievements. It usually lasts about an hour and is carried out by 2 or 3<br />
interviewers. If we are unable to arrange an interview in your country of residence, the interview is conducted by telephone conference.<br />
How long does the application <strong>process</strong> take?<br />
From receipt of your application and supporting documentation, the <strong>process</strong> takes about 2 months to complete, providing you have supplied us with<br />
sufficient information. There are 3 stages to the application <strong>process</strong> and we will update you on the progress of your application at the end of each stage.<br />
What if further information is required to support my application?<br />
We will contact you and request the further information we require. If we don’t receive the requested information within 10 working days, we will<br />
assume you do not wish to proceed with your application.<br />
