How long should I have worked at SFIA Level 5 before I can apply?
You are required to have worked at SFIA Level 5 for at least 12 months prior to your application.
What does my supporter need to do?
We will send your supporter a report form which they need to complete and return directly to BCS by email or post, verifying your work experience
over the last 12 months. They must provide as much detail as possible and in their own words give specific examples which show you are working at
SFIA Level 5.
Does my supporter have to have Chartered status?
It is not essential that your supporter is a Chartered IT Professional. What is important is that they are familiar with your day-to-day work over the last
12 months and can provide a detailed opinion of your level of competence.
What is involved in the interview, should one be required?
The interview is to discuss your career and clarify your competence and achievements. It usually lasts about an hour and is carried out by 2 or 3
interviewers. If we are unable to arrange an interview in your country of residence, the interview is conducted by telephone conference.
How long does the application process take?
We will contact you and request the further information we require. If we don’t receive the requested information within 10 working days, we will
