Airbus A380 aircraft. The 10-year<br />

exclusive agreement for air<br />

management and emergency power<br />

components is Hamilton<br />

Sundstrand's first C.A.R.E program<br />

for the Airbus A380. Hamilton<br />

Sundstrand's C.A.R.E. program<br />

offers total repair and inventory<br />

support services for engine<br />

accessories and airframe<br />

components. The business currently<br />

manages equipment installed on<br />

more than 600 aircraft and 1,000<br />

engines. The program is in existence<br />

since 1998.<br />

MTU teams up with Garuda<br />

MTU Maintenance has signed a joint<br />

operation agreement with the<br />

Indonesian maintenance, repair and<br />

overhaul provider Garuda<br />

Maintenance Facilities AeroAsia. As<br />

a strategic partner, MTU<br />

Maintenance will take care of<br />

CFM56-3 engine MRO activities for<br />

the Indonesian market jointly with<br />

GMF AeroAsia. Besides the engines<br />

of the 37-aircraft B737 Classic fleet<br />

of Garuda Indonesia, also engines of<br />

Maintenix maintenance management<br />

software for implementation in<br />

support of the A380. The Maintenix<br />

system will provide Engineering,<br />

capabilities. This system allows the<br />

ExelTech builds new hangar<br />

ExelTech has launched the<br />

development of a new C$21 million<br />

heavy maintenance hangar facility at<br />

Montreal's Pierre Elliot Trudeau<br />

International Airport. The new facility,<br />

to be completed in the spring of<br />

2008, will result in a 30% increase in<br />

capacity compared to the two<br />

smaller, older hangars the Company<br />

currently operates in Montreal.<br />

Hamburg International uses LHT<br />

Airbus A319’s. In a new, 10-year<br />

contract, the two partners are<br />

continuing a relationship that has<br />

been in existence since 1999.<br />

Lufthansa Technik will supply the<br />

ten-aircraft fleet with components<br />

under a Total Component Support<br />

contract and maintain all the CFM56-<br />

5B5 engines through a Total Engine<br />

Support contract. The deal is worth<br />

around 50 million Euros.<br />

More than 380 Airbus patents<br />

During the A380 development phase,<br />

Airbus filed more than 380 patent<br />

applications for technologies<br />

developed for the double-decker.<br />
