QBS 2012 Election Information<br />

On behalf of <strong>the</strong> nominating committee <strong>the</strong> following members will appear on <strong>the</strong> ballot for<br />

2013. The ballot will be available and you will be asked to vote at <strong>the</strong> September 13, 2012<br />

general meeting.<br />

President - Susan Contreras<br />

VP Programs - Kathleen Lisen<strong>by</strong><br />

VP Workshops - Vicki Allred & Marilyn Pond<br />

Secretary - Sheryl Stahl<br />

Treasurer - Dean Lund<br />

Special Events – Open<br />

Quilt Show Chair – Jo Ann White and Sabrina Ugwu<br />

Absentee ballots from members in good standing must be received <strong>by</strong> <strong>the</strong> day before <strong>the</strong><br />

Annual Business Meeting. To cast an absentee ballot, a member will write out her/his votes<br />

on any slip of paper, place it in an envelope, seal it, and sign it across <strong>the</strong> flap. This envelope<br />

shall be delivered to <strong>the</strong> parliamentarian (Sandy Carreon 211 E Forhan St, Long Beach, CA<br />

90805) prior to <strong>the</strong> annual meeting, who shall deliver all absentee ballots to <strong>the</strong> head teller<br />

for tally.<br />

Voting shall be conducted <strong>by</strong> secret ballot and <strong>the</strong> person with <strong>the</strong> most votes wins.<br />

Please consider volunteering some of your time to fill one of <strong>the</strong> appointed positions or a<br />

standing committee position. Simply let a member of <strong>the</strong> nominating committee know if<br />

you are willing to help out.<br />

The appointed positions are for one year and no more than two consecutive years. They are:<br />

Newsletter Editor-Lori Davies<br />

Parliamentarian-Sandy Carreon<br />

Librarian- Open<br />

Intraguild Coordinator- Open<br />

Community Services/Philanthropic Coordinator-<br />

Sou<strong>the</strong>rn California Council of Quilt Guilds Representative –Sandy Carreon<br />

Standing Committees have no term limits and no voting rights on <strong>the</strong> Board. The positions<br />

are: Historian, Show and Tell, Facilities/Equipment, Hospitality, President‘s Gift, Bee Keeper,<br />

Publicity, Opportunity Quilt Current and Opportunity Quilt Future, Guild Basket, Greeter,<br />

Photographer<br />
