Phantasy Phantasi
Florence Cooke Violin/Feiolin
Oliver Wilson Viola/Fiola
Heather Bills 'Cello/Sielo
Huw ClementEvans Oboe/Obo
The beautifully plaintive sound of the oboe takes centre stage in Britten’s
Phantasy (1932), written for the great oboist Leon Goussens. Tann’s
emotionally charged music draws its inspiration from the ruins of a 13th
century castle near Merthyr Tydfil. Mozart and Schubert’s music contain, as
ever, elegantly crafted melodies and appealing harmony.
Sain hyfryd a hiraethus yr obo sydd amlycaf yn Phantasy Britten (1932), a
cerddoriaeth lawn emosiwn Tann gan adfeilion castell o’r drydedd ganrif ar
ddeg ger Merthyr Tydfil. Mae cerddoriaeth Mozart a Schubert, fel y gellid
