Bachelor of Science degree Business Program, BPE students also take courses in the liberal arts that are designed to develop the critical thinking and communications skills needed for advanced course work. ACCOUNTING (C10) As of August 1, 2009, a student must complete 150 credit hours to become a certified public accountant (CPA) in New York State. For Stern students who wish to sit for the CPA licensure examination, the full 150 required credits are earned through the completion of both the Stern Bachelor of Science degree and a specially designed Master of Science degree in Certified Public Accounting at the graduate Stern School of Business.
