Verdant Jute Works<br />

Verdant jute museum is a grand attraction. The supply of whale oil in the<br />

city led to the establishment of the jute industry in the city in the 1840’s.<br />

Tay Road Bridge<br />

Road Bridge with pedestrian walkway over the River Tay to Fife.<br />

Approximately 3 miles. (Nice walk and views.)<br />

Parks<br />

Clatto Country Park<br />

A variety of watersports are on offer at Clatto. Hire is available from May to<br />

September.<br />

The visitors’ centre has changing rooms, wetsuits and buoyancy aids<br />

included with hire.<br />

Camperdown Country Park<br />

Offers a variety of attractions from golf, wildlife centre, to holding annual<br />

fairs, fun runs for charity and seasonal events.<br />

Caird Park<br />

If you like open space, look no further. Great for golf, running, cycling, and<br />

when the carnival comes to town, entertainment for everyone.<br />

Monikie Country Park<br />

Monikie Country Park, with its reservoirs, woodland and parkland, is an<br />

ideal location for a visit to the countryside. The scenic surroundings offer<br />

many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors at any time.<br />

Broughty Ferry<br />

The town was but a cluster of fisherfolks’ cottages around the harbour of<br />

Crab Rock, shadowed by Broughty Castle built in 1496. Although the<br />

industries with which Broughty Ferry was once associated are now gone,<br />

the area remains a lovely holiday destination, with sandy beaches and the<br />

castle now a museum.<br />
