Letter From The President
Dear Friends:
Ah… spring! It’s a time of renewal and rejuvenation, a time when each of
us contemplates another winter’s passing and the promise of bright days
ahead. It’s a time to plan, to feel, to believe…to make things happen.
At the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, it’s also a time to
celebrate our donors, without whom our good work would go undone, our
communities unserved. Like a nurturing Mother Nature in spring, inspiring
flourishing growth, our donors plant the seeds that inspire our communities
to work, to serve, to grow.
This causal relationship is central to how the Community Foundation works.
It is a potent formula: Caring, committed citizens utilizing Foundation
resources and expertise to effect genuine change. Without it, we stagnate;
with it, we thrive.
Our 2006 Donor Report honors these committed people, companies and
organizations who generously supported our communities through gifts
to the Foundation. Sprinkled throughout are vignettes about some of the
newer members of our Foundation Family of Funds, and the special story
that each brings with them to the rich tapestry of community history
and values we have been entrusted to steward for generations to come.
We thank them – and you – for that trust.
Shortly, we will celebrate yet another change of season with this report’s
companion piece, our 2006 Annual Report. These publications, along with
our rejuvenated website (www.cfgnb.org) and future e-newsletters, are our
way of keeping you informed about the good work of the Community
Foundation…
…and how you are making it happen.
